Lancome’s Darais Gives You Some Lovely Valentine’s Day Beauty!

Darais is no stranger to this blog! He’s been in podcasts and videos and he’s amazing at what he does. A Make-up artist for 10 years in Los Angeles and 4 years as a National Celebrity Artist for Lancome USA.
He’s even launched a blog called Morning Makeup Call .
Darais has written a piece for LA-Story.com that’s all about the romance (bad, good or mes a mes) of Valentine’s Day– in other words, how to score the look that will get you noticed on that 2/14.. and if you use it before that, who’s going to complain? Certainly not Darais or moi!

Nothing says more love, sex, lust, and romance… even if it is a bad romance, than Marilyn Monroe to me. I think that she is still to this day screaming all those attributes, and, is a great influence in a sexy but classy way… in the world of cosmetics.

When I think of Valentine’s day the first thing I think of is RED. Yes, make your lips red. Even if it is a sheer red lipgloss with a neutral liner do it! Men go crazy over it because usually they are used to seeing your pout in pink! Red gives mystery, mistress, sexual, and strong! For the strongest red, use Lancome’s Rougelle Le Lipstique waterproof lip liner (I say if its waterproof, it’s usually kiss-proof). Next apply the comforting Color Design matte lipstick in either Corset for a soft red or Red Haute for a bold red, both by Lancome.

Keep the eyes “Bedroom”!!!
Nothing gives a more a dreamy bedroom eye than a top heavy lash line. Marilyn always wore that thick liquid liner and heavy lash line backed up with soft subtle contour. Throw on lashes if you can or go to a department store and have them do it for you. It will give you more flirt while you bat them at your date!
ArtLiner has a “cult following” in Noir (black). It’s extremely easy to apply with the felt tip applicator. Start off with a little and with practice you’ll be able to lift your lash line in no time!

Luminous Skin
Skin should glow and look “lit from within”. I love a polished shine especially across the top of the cheek bones and on the collar bones. Use Eclat Miracle Serum of light by Lancome with your fingers and “shine” that night perfectly.
Apply this as the last thing you apply after all your makeup. It’s amazing what a little highlight can do to a love life!

Want to know how this “look” really turns out?
Darais recently worked with Julia Stiles for the Art of Elysium Gala and you can find the complete product and color breakdown at Makeup411.com and here are a couple of photos of Julia Stiles.

Here’s what Darais used on Julia Stiles:

Recently I worked with Julia Stiles and gave her this look in a subdued way. The skin was illuminated to the max with Teint Miracle foundation: 40 % water and it’s oil-free. It feels like there is nothing on the skin. You can use a setting powder for the T-Zone, but watching all the award shows the trend is more on the shine side right now. Don’t over-powder!!! Use blotting film sheets instead.

Her eyes were softly sculpted using Color Design shadows in Filigree, Chic, Waif, and Honeymoon.
Top Liner in Black Coffee Khol applied heavily and lots and lots of mascara. I used Oscillation Mascara in Black. It vibrates– the first time for Julia when it comes to a mascara that tickles!

Her lips her so perfectly red. I used Rougelle liner and Corset Lipstick.

Darais is in demand with celebrities and his personal appearances. He can give anyone the red carpet look. He has worked with Ashley Greene, Rose McGowan, Saffron Burrows, Emma Roberts, Kristen Davis, Jill Wagner, Ellen Page, and Kristen Bell.

Morning Makeup Call .
FYI: I have used tips from Darais and I love the Teint Miracle Foundation. It’s a perfect foundation for a light almost invisible coverage that when applied in layers works as effectively as a concealer. I highly recommend the Definicils Precious Cells mascara and Hypnose Drama for that “out to there” lashes that will give you noticed.
