Art for Life Event Brings Out Celebs to Hamptons for Cocktails, Fashion & Jennifer Hudson Performance!!

This might be a bit late but the scoop on this event is too yummy to bypass and I had to share. At the end of July, a slew of *name brand* celebs gathered at the East Hamptons home of Russell Simmons for the 12th annual Art for Life Benefit sponsored by Bombay Sapphire Gin.

Soledad O’Brien was hosting guests Edward Norton, Mary J. Blige, Taraji P. Henson, Lala Anthony, Tamara Mellon, Vanessa and Angela Simmons, Rev Run, Star Jones, Lisa Rinna, Kimora Lee Simmons and Djimon Hounsou, Brett Ratner, Dr. Oz, LA Reid, Jennifer Esposito and Gayle King !!

With great beverages courtesy of Bombay Sapphire Gin, people were chilling at this great gathering:

The Sapphire Masterpiece

2 oz BOMBAY SAPPHIRE® Gin
4 oz Cranberry Juice
5 oz Pineapple Juice
Garnish with a Lime Wedge

SAPPHIRE® Raspberry Collins.

2 parts BOMBAY SAPPHIRE® Gin
5 fresh raspberries
¾ part lemon juice
½ part sugar
club soda

Method:
Build first four ingredients in a highball glass. Top with club soda. Add ice and stir.

French 75

3 parts BOMBAY SAPPHIRE Gin
2 parts fresh-squeezed lemon juice
1 part sugar syrup
top with champagne

Guests enjoyed a performance by Oscar-winner Jennifer Hudson.

Hudson’s performance was the highlight of the event and her rendition of the Dreamgirls classic “And I Am Telling You I’m Not Going” brought the crowd to its feet.

BOMBAY SAPPHIRE, Russell & Danny Simmons’ Rush Philanthropic Arts Foundation and Complex Media teamed up to launch a nationwide search to identify the finest undiscovered talent in the field of visual arts.

“The BOMBAY SAPPHIRE Artisan Series has established itself as a platform for emerging artists who seek to shape our contemporary cultural landscape—artists who look to defy boundaries with the power of their imagination,” says Russell Simmons, Chairman of GlobalGrind.com and co-founder of the Rush Philanthropic Arts Foundation. “With the extraordinary success of last year’s program, I am excited to see what emerges from this year’s roster of talent.”

Such an amazing event!!
