Makeup Junkie’s Marie & LA-Story Talk About Our Fave Beauty Products: Skincare & Hair Products!

This is a riff from a post Marie P made on her blog. I am breaking this down into smaller segments so that you can see my take on certain skincare products and I will stretch her post out even further so that we get a lot of things covered.

From Marie’s blog Usually I don’t promote hair care products very much, but there are times when I cannot wash my hair because I am not feeling well.
I have found the ultimate dry shampoo. It is Oscar Blandi’s Invisible Volumizing Dry Shampoo Spray. A few sprays in and around the scalp and my hair is good to go for another day. And I have asked hair dressers many times, they keep telling me that constantly washing the hair can cause it to be too dry.

I have mentioned before that my glowing skin is due to philosophy’s Microdelivery Mini Peel which used every day gives me the look of skin that is eternally 30ish!, $35.00.

One other product I like from philosophy right now are their Miracle Worker Retinol pads that are applied in the evening. They come with a bottle of retinol that is poured over the pads and you use them up. Very nice! ( $70.00)

While Marie is enamored with Philosophy products, I have a few fave products that have turned out to be stellar products for me– two of which you have already heard about. The new things are pretty intense and radical. Radical Skincare


Radical Skincare Peptide Infused Antioxidant Serum

This is one of the most potent skincare regimens I have ever seen. The ingredient list is filled with actives at the top of the list and you will see changes in your complexion in 2 weeks with just these two products — though there are more in the collection that are worth trying. I know that the products might seem expensive but seeing a difference in 2 weeks is worth a lot and it’s a lot less than some other pricier lines that don’t deliver as much. The serum is a pump of gel serum that’s berry colored and a tiny pearl size is all you need for your entire face. Not only does it brighten, it soothes and is easily absorbed. Just blend it well into your skin.


Radical Skincare Anti-Aging Restorative Moisture

The other two products that I love and keep coming back to are:


Ageless Secret Gold Spray which gives my skin moisture and nutrients and it’s virtually invisible; can be used at any time of day for moisturizing the skin and lines diminish and become virtually invisible. If you want a fast effect, spray as directed on your face and then blast your face with a hair-dryer on high and you will find that lines smooth out and you get a lifted fresher look. (no more tired eyes). Try this for a month and you will see differences. I stopped using it while I was testing other skincare — and as soon as I started up with it again, I could see the difference in less than a week– and it works that fast when used in partnership with the next product!

Want to use the lastest non-invasive skincare treatment device that is FDA approved and will last you a good long time? LightStim is an LED device that is FDA Approved for rosacea, anti-aging, acne and even therapy for muscular problems. While there is a different “light” for each condition, the particular treatment I am talking about is the anti-aging. It speeds up the building of collagen and elastin. There are other similar (but not exactly the same) products out there that claim to do what this product does– but don’t produce the results you will see with LightStim (and they don’t have the FDA approval either). Marie’s comment about haircare shows that time is important to her and to many others. I have a love affair with hair products– and I happen to love a couple of lines: Belegenza — which is food grade quality natural ingredients (don’t eat it though because the taste isn’t so good).

This is both a skincare and a hair care line: two different lines from this company. LOVE the skincare line but saving that for another post. The hair care I have used a lot more and a lot longer and for an all natural line for any type of hair, it’s AWESOME! When my hair was so badly damaged courtesy of lots of color treatments, other treatments (*hair smoothing) and excessive use of hair tools, I turned to this line to get my hair back into great condition. I love these products because they flat out deliver everything they promise and more!! There are even more products to try than when I first saw the line about 4 years ago. If you are serious about hair care in the long term and want great results– use this line. It’s also a concentrated line — meaning there’s no water in it the cleansing products – -because if you are washing your hair, you are already adding the water for the shampoo and conditioner. A little goes a long way.
