Secrets of the Red Carpet: Mally Roncal of Mally Beauty Spills Her Secrets for Bullet-Proof Beauty!

It’s the holidays and getting harder and harder to look good because of the holiday events. (Hello Christmas! Cocktails, Desserts, Food, Late Nights, Early Mornings!) What’s a girl to do? I have all the scoop for you and it’s courtesy of Mally Roncal (if you go back and search my blog you can find about 5-6 interviews and probably 9-10 product reviews of her line) and the LA Times Image section’s Alene Dawson Special to the Los Angeles Times. Alene’s story is about how to come-back after pulling an “all-nighter” or a series of late nights with early mornings. I am not covering all the content that she talked about –which is definitely worth reading. However she did do a Q&A with Mally Roncal, founder of MallyBeauty and celeb makeup artist- which parts of her Q&A wil be featured.

From the LA Times Image section:

Celebrity makeup artist Mally Roncal (clients include Beyoncé, Jennifer Lopez, Celine Dion and Pink) knows the pain of a sleepless night. “I pull all-nighters all of the time,” she says. Her clients do too. “Gone are the days when we used to do one thing one day and another thing another day,” Roncal says. “Now literally we start at 4 a.m. at the ‘Today Show’ and then we do the ‘Rachael Ray Show,’ then you go do a photo shoot and then you do a video shoot, then you go do a red carpet — it’s literally all day.”

The solution is Mally Beauty— her own line that she created (and I have known her for a long time before she even had launched this line.)– and according to Mally (and everyone who’s used it including moi) it’s “a bulletproof line that lasts all day and looks fierce” to meet her clients’ 24/7 needs. “Every woman I know is a superwoman — kids and husbands and businesses — she’s up and running.”

What’s a girl to do when she needs to look good on the run– and the day is long? Try some of this new product because it’s pretty darn smokin’ haute!

Mally’s tips for getting around long days, longer nights and then rewind/repeat:

Red eyes: Use Visine [or Rohto] after applying makeup. “Tilt your head back and pull the bottom lid down and put the eye drops in that little pocket and then you just sort of blink, blink, blink. And you quickly put the Q-Tip right where the tear duct is to catch the makeup.”

Puffy eyes: Anything cool will help reduce puffiness, including chilled black tea, tea bags (caffeine helps constrict) or a gel eye mask.

Concealer: “It lightens, brightens and really helps you look as if you’ve had eight hours’ sleep. Apply underneath your eyes, but make sure that you get in that area by the bridge of the nose — in that little cave of darkness, as I like to say.”

Lashes: “Never leave the house without curling your lashes. I pump at the base, middle and at the tip, and that way you get that nice round curl.”

As featured in the LA Time article.. ( of course they didn’t feature the videos)

This is the end of part 1.. Stay tuned for more tips and tricks from Mally Roncal!
