Celebrate Hot Summer Days & Nights with Fun Parties. Lifestyle Expert Elizabeth Mayhew Tells You How!

Who doesn’t want to have a party or two (or more) over the long hot summer? Why not make it a fun time that won’t break your budget! Lifestyle Expert Elizabeth Mayhew has the scoop on the latest, greatest ways to throw a perfect summer bash.

Where to start:

Target! They’ve made it simple and affordable for families to entertain stylishly this summer with all the essentials needed for the table, home and backyard.

This summer, it’s all about mixing bold colors in cool and warm hues… turquoise, blue, coral and yellow, are the “it” colors. You’ll find them splashed across everything from melamine dinnerware to serving pieces and table runners. There are some amazing serving pieces, with bamboo details, that are under $12 and are chic additions to a table-great find!

What about food and drinks?

When it comes to what to put “on your table or in your drinkware” Elizabeth suggests you keep that simple as well. Choose finger food to make it easy for people to eat without a lot of utensils. Think small plates and you will have a better handle on the food — and how to serve it. Tostitos has a new Artisan recipe Three- cheese Queso and Southwestern Spices flavored tortilla chips that are yummy. Both are made with a nine-grain blend and real ingredients you can see and taste, roasted garlic, three cheeses, and spices like red pepper and cumin.

If you are going to have a main course then make it simple from hotdogs or burger, chicken legs or even a pre-made pizza to cook on the grill. For beverages have an array of non-alcoholic and pre-made alcoholic options for people to help themselves and so they can control what they imbibe.

Thanks to Elizabeth Mayhew, Tostitos/Frito-Lay and also Target for all the great ideas!!
