Gap Gets Colorful — and Goes INDIE! Check Out the Videos!

Typically I am talking about the Gap stuff I have purchased (totally dig their selvage jeans too! They fit differently because they are all cotton but that’s another post).

What this post is about is how Gap has gone into the INDIE music and dance world– to show off some people you should know about– and also put them into some styles that work for each individual person.

I personally love this kind of branding because it introduces something new and exceptional for each person or band and it really helps them get some visibility — as well as present their own uniqueness. These people are UNIQUE– and what GAP is trying to tell you is that GAP has a unique style as well. (And that’s not from any PR fluff piece either. That’s moi talking)

Kaki King “Show Your Colors” Gap Be Bright Fall 2012

Kaki King– wears those bright stretch skinny jeans. Got to love the color. Her talent is even better!

Lil Buck “Denim Moves You” Gap Be Bright Fall 2012

Lil Buck is amazing!! His dance moves are spectacular. The trick to realize here is two-fold. Most guys want jeans that are not overly fussy but fit well and for Lil Buck, they have to do more than fit well, they have to move with him. He should be choreographing some holiday videos for the GAP and GAP KIDS!

The Avett Brothers “Fit For Originals” Gap Be Bright Fall 2012

The Avett Brothers sing with heart and soul. These brothers are really fun, talented and funny in their video– but they show off the essential thing about GAP for MEN– that regular guys can wear it and it’s simple and easy to wear.

For more 411 on the videos/films.. check out GAP’s Fall 2012 “Icons Redefined” campaign on facebook. http://www.facebook.com/Gap

I am not writing any fluff sent to me from GAP. I am not being paid by GAP. I just like their social media/ traditional media cross-over here and think it sparks of their previous forays that made a ton of sense and showed off the style that GAP had at that time. Maybe it’s an illumination or hint of what’s to come.
