Fall Fitness: Working Out will Help You Get in Shape & Reduce Stress!!
Mai Tran’s Active Girls, Healthy Women book is a MUST read for any age group of women!! Not only is it about being fit and trim, Mai Tran brings a lot more to this book and the conversation about women and their personal image.
Mai Tran is a national fitness spokesmodel. ESPN recently called her “a flashy television personality who makes Sofia Vergara look plain” and she launched a book earlier this year that would make a great holiday gift or just an inspiration for you to get fit for the holidays. Published by Sports Improper Publications LLC, this book was written with Marc Zappulla. The content includes healthy nutritional and exercise habits for young girls so that they can maintain this lifestyle into adulthood and avoid the pitfalls of disease as well as the national health concern- obesity. Tran focuses on self-esteem and includes a chapter on bullying.
Definitely a book worth buying for any young girl, teen or college bound young woman. It’s a great book with lots of positive reinforcement and worth the bucks because this is a book that will evolve with the reader! Available at Amazon.com
Utlimate Kettlebell Workouts for Beginners is the IDEAL workout DVD for people who want to use kettlebells but haven’t done it before OR haven’t been working out or both. The biggest issue I find with other kettlebell workouts is that they are too strenuous and you can seriously hurt yourself if you aren’t using exact form. Often the workouts move too fast and you the viewer get lost in the workout and lose proper form. Paul Katami is a master trainer at Equinox and he brings it to you in 3 easy workouts that will still have you sweating, burning calories while also not killing yourself with a kettlebell.
This DVD has 3 workouts with step-by-step instruction with awesome safety tips that won’t make the workout feel like molasses but will have you doing things slowly, properly and still burning calories while you learn how to use kettlebells with proper form in 3 individual 25 minute workouts!! Got to love that! Perfect if you want to get in shape before the holidays and would make a GREAT holiday gift too for that fitness person in your life.
Tracey Mallett — one of my favorite fitness pros– has another batch of fabulous DVDs. I bought 2 and I was given 2 to test drive. No matter what you do, Tracey makes it easy to follow and keep proper form and you burn some serious calories while doing cardio or body-sculpting!!
Booty Barre that is a blend of standing workouts at the ballet barre with serious sculpting workou. this particular video is about 35 minutes and you will feel it the next day but results — when done on a regular basis and attention to form– will be worth every minute and the bucks for this DVD. Booty Barre: Beginners & Beyond
Fuse Dance comes in two versions (and you will probably want both). Cardio Lean and Cardio Melt. Easy to figure out what they do: one torches calories and the other sculpts– but it makes no matter- sculpting, dancing and burning calories are all part of each program.
For those seeking to tone those abs, >Mallett’s Lose the Belly Flab is a great way to get short workouts for ab conditioning plus butt lifting moves too– think of it as bonus moves.
As you can see, there’ a huge range of workouts both in books, dvd, online and on cable TV. NOW is the time to get started on your own personal workout. NOW is the time to buy some equipment for yourself or for someone else who you know wants to start a workout program OR is already a fitness junkie
Stay tuned for another post about fitness acessories that can help make things easier — from shoes, clothing, equipment, fun toys like the iPod accessories and even food that will give you the right caloric & nutritional balance!
