I discovered eSalon with a couple of clicks and sent them a note asking to learn more about what they were doing. I had gone through the ordering process but I had questions– lots of questions and I got an email from the PR for esalon.com. They sent me information and I asked more questions. So we set up a date for me to visit the office for eSalon.com which happens to be in the greater LA area.

This office is tucked away in a part of LA that is interesting and the space is nice. Turns out they moved relatively recently because their business is growing. Professional colorists might be grumbling that eSalon is costing them business but when the difference between paying a colorist to do your hair (This is either root touch-ups or complete color. They do not do touch-ups for highlights of lowlight)

Sound too good to be true? Actually it’s VERY true. I met Color Director Estelle Baumhauer, Color Director and Marketing Director, Tass Gunthelaka got an amazing tour of the place and a good sense that YES there are seriously great colorists manning the phones. What I would tell you is that it’s critical to have a current COLOR photo of you and your hair in good light. I would tell you be honest about the amount of gray coverage you need and be prepared for them to call you to ask questions.

This is perfect for anyone wishing to change their hair color “just because”! It’s also perfect for doing root touch-ups as well as overall hair color due to fadiing. They do have shampoos and conditioners and special color-enhancing shampoos to keep your color true and not brassy. Here’s one item you really need to buy — and you will only buy it once: the application kit complete with timer!! It’w worth every penny and you will find life simpler when you use it. The comments have been very positive. I have ordered my kit and waiting for the time for touch-up to be able to do this myself. Their directions are VERY specific too.

Also if you find that the color doesn’t quite work out the way you want, you can call them and have them tweak the formula. If you hate it, they will refund your money. Personally, I think it’s genius. I did get some free color enhancing shampoos and the basic shampoo and conditioner. I did pay for my own hair color kit– because Estelle looked at my hair color and wrote down a formula that would work better than what I was using. So I am anxious to try this on myself. (I am my own guinea pig)

LOVE this product!! I have used the color-enhancing shampoos to stretch out the time before I need to color again– allowing my roots to really grow out. I have used the order form 3 times– the first time to realize that I needed to talk to someone about this platform. The second was when I found out that they needed to see me in person since I happened to be in LA to see what color I really needed to be and thus I got to do this interview. I am thrilled with the box. I know that the color enhancing shampoos work exceptionally well at removing brassiness and also keeping the blonde streaks blonde– not turning some other shade!
