Guest Blogger Amanda Green Talks about “Face Wash Rules For Different Climates”

Amanda Green joins us for a Guest Post via her blog SkincareHQ.org She brings her passion for skincare, beauty and health together in this great article.

Many people don’t realize that different climates call for different face wash types and overall routines. Why? It’s simple. Different climates tend to lead to different skin types because of the different constant forces playing against your skin. Not sure what you should be doing? Check out the following face wash rules, based on the most common climate types.

Tropical Climates

Tropical climates tend to be very wet and rainy, although some specific subtypes may lead to an extremely wet season followed by a terribly dry season. In the traditionally dry tropical climates, temperatures stay around 80 degrees, and rarely go below 68 or above 93. These conditions are humid, which can lead to oily skin even on the driest of people. You should make sure to wash your face with a mild acne wash designed to get rid of excessive oils. Dry skin types should wash their face once a day, right before bed, and oily skin types should wash their face twice- once in the morning and once in the evening. Also remember to carry around blotting papers, and give your face a quick rinse with cool water when possible.

Arid Climates

Arid climates are warm and dry, which can cause your face to become dry, flaky, and itchy. You must be certain that the acne wash you are using is very mild, or else your skin will end up irritated. Remember that if you live in an arid climate, that you should always moisturize your face after washing it because it’s stuck in a very dry climate all day. Failure to properly moisturize could lead to severely damaged skin.

General Notes

Most climates fall into either a tropical or arid climate, or one of their subcategories- at least those which have people actually living in them. Although the climates are very different, here are a few good rules that can be used for all climates, in addition to the specific ones stated above:

● Know your skin type; choose the best face wash for oily skin or dry skin accordingly.
● Never just buy a face wash without reading the label. It will usually tell you what skin type it’s good for. It will also list the ingredients, so you check if it contains anything you’re sensitive to, and you can also check whether it contains oils, parabens, etc which many people would prefer not to have in their face wash.
● No face wash can do the job alone. Your arsenal should also contain a good moisturizer, designed for your skin type.
● Remember that sometimes a single wash with your favorite facial wash will not always remove all of your makeup. Try doing a pre-rinse with some cool water and wiping your face, or using a baby wipe to help ensure it’s all gone without over drying your skin.

The climate you live in has a lot to do with the skin you must live in, and knowing how to wash your face and with what kind of wash can greatly help you to achieve that gorgeous skin you’ve been striving for.
