Meet the REAL Anderson Davis: Kraft’s “Mr. Zesty” & Sauza’s “LifeGuard” Spills the Beans on His Life!

The name Anderson Davis might not be the most recognized name that you know in movies, TV or advertising. However his face, voice, smile and killer body are something that are extremely memorable. I got a pitch to interview Anderson Davis and the name (honestly) did not resonate but his photos did! When I read about the KRAFT Zesty campaign— I definitely knew who he was. I watch those commercials every day. It’s just plain fun to watch him with salad dressing- I don’t care what he makes- he’s just great in this series.

Anderson Davis is an actor who has some credits including being featured in a Katy Perry music video but until the Sauza Tequila and more particularly The Kraft Zesty commercials have made a serious impact on tons of people. (The salad pizza is my favorite). Anderson claims to be just your average guy (with abs like that– NEVER!) and he grew up as an athlete. One of his favorite things is to fish. (Go figure. Hey Anderson, I live by the beach. We have fish! JUST KIDDING (*am I?)

Sauza Tequila ( I DARE you not to be smiling at the montage ending!!

In case you want the details on who Anderson Davis is – here is his bio:

Anderson Davis: E Entertainment interview.

Born and raised in Northern California playing every sport from baseball to football to basketball and passing on a major league baseball contract with the Tampa Bay Devil Rays after college, Davis never left athletics behind booking a national baseball commercial for SHARP AQUOS sparking his acting bug and leading to campaigns with Reebok, COORS and POWERADE. In addition to finding his way onto television via commercials he has costarred on THE TONIGHT SHOW with CONAN O’BRIEN, CSI, WHITNEY and DAYS of OUR LIVES to name a few. Anderson recently returned from Hong Kong where he shot a mini-series chronicling the first overseas Chinese student graduating in the US, Rong Hong (Yung Wing), to air on CCTV1, where he carried the lead antagonist role of “General Daniel.”

Widely known for his editorial shoots in men’s fashion as well as fitness shoots for Men’s Health, Men’s Fitness and Details Magazine as fitness expert from years of working in the gym and training industry, his physique has been numerously sought after for tip and tricks to his healthy lifestyle. An avid outdoorsman, Davis can be found on the golf course, fishing and mentoring kids on the baseball diamond as little league coach. Having a knack for working with his hands, Davis recently gutted and remodeled his entire home in a month and a half from creating cabinets to laying tile and hardwood.

There’s a lot more to Anderson Davis than that bio suggests and I had the chance to dig it out of him. (a dirty job I know, but someone’s got to ask the tough questions!) Check out the podcast for virtually everything you want to know about Anderson Davis- because he is the nicest guy out there. While we aren’t sure what happened to the conference call because he wound up calling a pizza joint, I was calling his PR telling them I gave them the wrong access code number. We finally had the conference call interview and it’s hear in living glory.

Thank you Anderson Davis for the great interview. It ran a little long. It was a lot of chatter and conversation. Sure was fun.
Not sure you don’t do a heck of a lot of working out, but you do have the dogs and maybe you go through a lot of 20 pound bags of dog food — or lifting dogs instead?
(Sorry if I talked too much but we were both getting caffeinated at the same time.)

  1. This is the zestiest guy in advertising. It is brilliant for Kraft to do these because they are so memorable. I don’t buy dressing, but will not forget him.

  2. Kraft has done a great job branding.. and this guy is working it really well. Given that the chose the right guy ( a la the Old Spice campaign) this campaign could go on a lot longer than anyone realizes and get lots of engagement because Davis 1) doesn’t take himself too seriously 2) great at improv and 3) it’s really about great food and great guys

H0pe you had a chance to listen to the podcast.. because he talks a lot about how they made the commercials and where he’s going in his career.. and a few other things!

  3. I’m amazed at how he was able to maintain his physique like that. Well, he has to after all because it is his asset to land an advertising or acting role. Nevertheless, he will also be a model and inspiration to many regarding health and fitness.

  4. hence my rather extensive questions about his workouts. If this is a guy that’s craving eating a box full of cupcakes….. and still works out (and be sure he does work out a lot more when he has a gig like Vogue Italy).. he just does it his way. I like that.
