FRAGments S/S2013 #5 Mario Gomez Talks about DSH and Envoyage!! #Podcast!

What happens when LIFE happens prior to a special event like FRAGments? When a couple of fragrance designers couldn’t make it, then you get someone like Mario Gomez to step into the void and talk about great scents and fabulous collections. That’s what happened to 3 different fragrance brands at FRAGments! Mario Gomez, a noted fragrance afficionado stepped in for these fragrance houses and was able to best explain to me the newest scents along with scents coming back for another visit!


In this post, Mario talks about scents from Dawn Spencer Hurwitz (*DSH) and Envoyage by Shelly Waddington!


Dawn Spencer Hurwitz was unable to attend. Since I know Dawn and have talked to her on the phone and met her a couple of times before, I had been looking forward to connecting once more. It was not meant to be! Mario Gomez, extraordinarily well-educated in the world of fragrance was on hand for 3 different fragrances houses and DSH was one of them. We will be talking to him for the next 1.5 podcasts about those 3 different houses.

Matsu: a new fragranc!

Envoyage by Shelley Waddington
Also unable to attend this event, Shelley Waddington has created some amazing fragrances!


Shelley Waddington, owner of EnVoyage Perfumes and recipient of the 2011 Rising Star Perfumer of the Year Award, is a true underground force in fine fragrance and has been involved in aromatics for the past 14 years.

Waddington, known by many as “the Carmel Perfumer”, holds a diploma from the prestigious Galimard Perfumeur in Grasse Cedex, France. She has developed innovative concept perfumes, inspired by her travels, legends and lore, and by the beauty of her native Carmel-by-the-Sea, with its storybook English cottages, dramatic scenery, and indigenous flora. Durango was inspired by the elements of Earth and Salt. My goal in making this masculine fragrance was to capture the coolness of a desert evening while incorporating the terroir of rural Texas earth, sand, tumbleweeds and cactus flowers. ~Shelley Waddington

Base: Modern Fruity Musks, Sandalwood, Resins, Tonka, and Patchouli

These are amazing fragrance houses and they have so many great scents. This is just the essence of the FRAGmnents 2013 for S/S2013. I loved it.
