Holiday Beauty: Darais, Lancome National Celebrity Makeup Artist, Give You Tips on Holiday Beauty! #BeautyBreakdown

When looking at the holiday trends, it’s important to look at things more globally when it comes to beauty as a whole. But when it comes to creating a workable beauty look for nights out (either from the office or out on the weekends), you might need a little help putting it all together. I managed to rustle up one of my favorite people, Darais, Lancome’s National Celebrity Makeup Artist, to give you – and me- a hand in getting the look and the products broken down for you!

SW: When someone needs a fast and fabulous holiday look (as in getting off of work and heading straight to an event), what would you suggest?

Darais:

First amp up those lashes. Hypnôse Drama Instant Volume Mascara might just be all your eyes need.

classic-artliner

Graphic liquid eyeliner is a great trend as well. I love our classic Artliner in smoke and Noir or Lancôme’s new Artliner 24H in Jade or Sapphire

SW: How to faux the holiday glow? Not everyone will be sparkling or glowing this holiday season, what can we do to faux the glow? Body and face suggestions welcome.

Darais:

The very best thing Lancôme has to offer is our Absolue Soft Radiant Line-Smoothing Powder. Peche glows on gold while Golden gives a silver dusk look. Use these smooth as silk powders over eye Makeup.

On top of cheeks and collar bones using brush 17 for smaller areas and brush 3 for larger areas to glow. You can use it on shoulders and arms as well. On a lot of my celebrity clients I mix the powder in with nutrix body lotion to give a glow to any exposed body skin.

SW: Eyes that light up a Christmas tree. What colors of the season and also the basic colors too. What to use to take the workday neutrals to ramp them up to be holiday spectacular!

Darais:

all;-the-brightens-shimmers

Lancôme launched four shades of shadow for holiday. The names say it all. All that Sparkles, Glistens, Shimmers, and Brightens. The everyday color is All that Brightens. Looks like the most beautiful wet nude skin. Amp the eyes up with the top two colors for Fall– purple and grey with All that Glistens and All that Shimmers. To really plug in those lashes line the eyes in a smokey way with All that Sparkles. Also can be dusted in top of the lashes after mascara is applied to give a sparkle top coat to your lash.

SW: The smile that melts ice if not hearts., what colors, lip products (lipsticks, liners and glosses) as well as protecting the lips are best?

Pretty Burgundy

Burgundy to Boudreaux is the bold way to go. These colors look incredibly best during a holiday party. Top Liner would be in Raisinberry followed by lipstick in Merlot or Pretty Burgundy. Gloss up the lips and add hydration with Juicy Tube Berry Bold or Sun Bronze.

SW: Mascara and of course blush.. what’s are the best ones to use right now?

Darais:

It’s all about the Drama for Lashes when you got somewhere to go. Hypnôse Drama there’s nothing like it. For everyday go with Definicils.

If you haven’t seen the new blush Blushing Tresor you are really missing out. It’s not pink it’s not peach it’s not gold. It’s all three. It makes any cheek shine and shows off check bones more than ever before.

My gratitude to Darais (who is no stranger to this blog. Do a search for him. We turn to Darais for great tips & tricks quite a bit!) for taking the time to break down this look for us.
