On Friday, August 15, LA’s premier shopping, dining, and entertainment destination FIGat7th presents the the fourth of six FREE outdoor concerts at the FIGat7th Downtown Festival.
This week the festival will feature performances by Fools Gold
Fool’s Gold is a joint collaboration between Luke Top and Lewis Pesacov that began in 2007. With a diverse musical background between them (Luke had emigrated from Israel to US while a very young child and Pesacov earned a degree in classical music and studied with noted teachers Randall-Osborn and Franklin Cox., their music is a bit of western meets African rhythms and a whole lot more! The two began to write songs which would eventually appear on their first album in 2009.
Fool’s Gold expanded to a significantly larger band which included several other accomplished musicians including Garrett Ray, Jimmy Vincent and Matt Popieluch of Pesacov’s other band, Foreign Born; Latin American pop star Erica Garcia; former drummer for The Fall, Orpheo McCord; Michael Tapper, formerly of We Are Scientists as well as several other percussionists, musicians and vocalists.
This band is well known in LA and it’s been featured to appear in numerous venues, countries and tours globally.
The operative question is how many of these musicians will still be officially part of Fools Gold and how many will be sitting in for a session or two. No matter what with Top and Pesacov, it’s well worth the effort to go see them! (Better parking than the Hollywood Bowl

Guests can drink during the festivities at City Tavern’s Festival Bar on the top level near the stage and eat at TASTE (a dining collection on the plaza level).
