Michael O’Connor Hits #Emmys2014 with Serious Bling! #StyleLabNews: Red Carpet-Worthy Jewelry!

Whenever I get an invite to StyleLab with Michael O’Connor, I always know that I am going to see amazing jewelry. More than just gems in expensive settings, it’s about the artistic themes that each of the designers chooses to feature. In other words, jewelry that is not something seen typically in a catalog and certainly very much of the “one of a kind” ilk. Got to love that! It’s more than just celebrities (and their are plenty of those coming and going from the suite!). It’s trendspotting new designers and collections whose gifted creativity sparkles as brightly as the jewelry.

This red carpet event was no different than any others I have been to- in a word- spectacular! Not only did I get to bring a friend (wave to Gina!) as we ran around town, but I got a pretty quick piece in with Michael O’Connor that features smokin’ haute jewelry.

Gina and I both loved this ring:

I thought these necklaces were stunners!

The one piece in the video that captured my attention (Honestly there were about 5 different pieces I loved. This one is different.)
Michael talks about a person having a “hold” on a specific TAKAT necklace and would not reveal the name. That’s pretty much a given. Even when I see celebrities come and go, I never mention who they are in these pieces unless it’s maybe after the event.
While this celebrity wasn’t there when I was in the suite, I was certainly curious about who it was and when she would wear it.

Now I found out!
Here’s a photo of the celebrity who wore it:
JOAN RIVERS wore it on her FASHION POLICE TV show.

She is wearing that $1,000,000+ necklace in the photo.
PSA: Joan Rivers in ICU at Mount Sinai Hospital in NYC after she had a medical emergency on 8/28. Please say a prayer or think positive thoughts for her.

Thank you to Michael O’Connor and Niki Ostin (PRLAB) for their time, patience and assistance in making this video.
This is the one event, singular suite that I *always* want to attend and will do everything possible to make it there for every red carpet event. It’s a great place to hang out and see the jewelry “come and go” with stylists and/or celebrities. Everyone is friendly. There is more fun going on behind the scenes than you see!
