Do You Know If You are Vitamin B12 Deficient? Skip the Supplements and Use Maxasorb B12 Topical Cream!

Are you getting enough vitamins and minerals in your diet? It’s easy to think you are but if you aren’t taking a multi-vitamin that has some of the supplemental minerals in the mix, you could be vitamin deficient. What does vitamin deficiency mean? It means you aren’t getting proper nutrition and that your body might not be functioning at its’ best. It’s important to get proper nutrition to keep your body in good health– but getting the right food in the right quantities isn’t always easy due to work, personal health issues and what foods you eat that are really healthy and how many are processed foods: e.g., you can get vitamin D via milk or you can sit outside and catch some rays for about 20 minutes and get enough for your body. But there are other vitamins and minerals needed that do come from food like meat, poultry, seafood, dairy, that you might not eat because of dietary choices. So if you aren’t eating me meat, poultry, seafood, or dairy, you need supplementation. Taking a multi-vitamin/mineral supplement sounds easy but the compliance factor of remembering what to take and how much to take creates dietary deficits. What if you could take your vitamins or minerals via a topical cream- would that be easier?
For some, the answer is yes, it would be a lot easier. If you are on the “minus side” of your B12 vitamins, this might be a way to meet your daily requirements without shots or oral supplementation.

Why focus on B12? B12 deficiency isn’t often looked at by doctors or lay people unless you know what B12 does and what a deficiency means.

According to WEBMD, here’s a list of symptoms that might be illustrative of a vitamin B12 deficiency!

Symptoms of Vitamin B12 Deficiency
A deficiency of vitamin B12 can lead to vitamin B12 deficiency anemia.
A mild deficiency may cause only mild, if any, symptoms. But if untreated, it may cause symptoms such as:

–Weakness, tiredness, or light-headedness
–Rapid heartbeat and breathing
–Pale skin
–Sore tongue
–Easy bruising or bleeding, including bleeding gums
–Stomach upset and weight loss
–Diarrhea or constipation

The only way to check to see if you are B12 deficient is via bloodwork. While the stick of the blood draw isn’t fun, it’s worth it to be safe because if you are deficient and ignore it, you will be feeling pretty punky.

Since eating a really well-balanced diet isn’t possible for everyone, the supplements make sense. However not everyone can swallow pills or capsules easily or have all the gastric enzymes to break down oral supplements to make them useable. Also for those who have dietary restrictions, it can be hard to find specific versions for your needs without it costing a fortune.

Thankfully in the case of B12, there is a topical alternative now: Maxasorb B12 cream.

b12cream

Maxasorb B12 is scientifically formulated to topically deliver Vitamin B12. Similar technology as our patented B-12 Patch is used in this skin-soothing lotion (more like a cream in a tube). Each full application of lotion provides 320 micrograms of Vitamin B12 (methylcobalamin) plus 120 micrograms of Vitamin B3 (niacin) and 10 micrograms of Folate. Rubbing the easily absorbed, odorless lotion on your arms or legs makes daily use of Maxasorb B12 an ideal way to get all the Vitamin B12 you need. Natural ingredients assure this lotion is gentle to your skin.

EASY TO USE – Using the pump dispenser, press down once for a single dose of nourishing lotion.

GENTLE ON THE SKIN – Helps soothe dry, itchy, or irritated skin patches from eczema, psoriasis, or other skin rash

ALL NATURAL INGREDIENTS – Maxasorb B12 lotion uses only natural, safe ingredients

MAXIMUM VITAMIN ABSORPTION – Maxasorb B12 is scientifically formulated to topically delivery Vitamin B12.

It’s the easy way to get the B12 which makes compliance easier! (translation, because it’s a cream you will use it more often than taking a pill)

I tried the Maxasorb B12 because I have a slight B12 deficiency. I liked not taking a pill and the cream (in a tube). You do need to rub this cream or lotion into the skin. If you don’t, it’s going to sit there and be gooey. It vanishes quickly so it’s not a big deal.
I did try it at different times of the day and it made little difference when I applied it. Because it’s not an oral supplement it heads right into the bloodstream. I liked that part.

How did it work? I think it worked fine. I feel good but other than being tired for a variety of reasons (I don’t sleep well) I do feel better after I know it has been rubbed in. There’s no “rush”, flush or any specific way of knowing that it’s working. I did email the company to ask the operative question how does one know it works. What signs or ways to learn it’s doing what it’s supposed to do. I got no reply. Perhaps it’s similar to when you take oral vitamins… you don’t know if it’s doing the job or not.

The trick is -(repetition is key here) to rub it into your skin. I tried it on the inside of my elbows because the skin is thinner there. Tried the wrists too and behind the knees. Look at the warmest parts of your body with the thinnest skin (not your face) and apply it there.

I would love to see some sort of measurement guide on the tube to know when I have squeezed out too much or not enough. That would be useful.

The product has no smell and it’s a pale pink cream that vanishes quickly. I apply it at night before bed so that it can work along other supplements I am taking orally. For me, I find taking vitamins before bed to be incredibly helpful because I won’t have gastric irritation due to taking supplements on an empty stomach. (It makes me ill to do that). By taking a topical at night as well, it will interface with other similar vitamins and supplements that can be helpful/synergistic in making up for deficits.

This is pretty affordable and easy to remember to use since I keep it with my skincare- the one constant in my life!

  1. I have none of the symptoms, but have been a vegetarian since 1969, so I know I need to be aware of B12. I like the topical application idea. Smart.

  2. I like it too BUT they lack a couple of measurement things to tell you just how much you have applied (or not). There is no calibration on the tube/container. There is no way to know you haven’t applied to little or too much. Thankfully it’s a b vitamin and excreted daily…. but a person needs to know how much it being applied.
