It’s Academy Awards time, and it’s time for that gold statue to be welcomed into the arms of lots of people. The great part for those of us not attending the Oscar show or the after-parties, is that we can start drinking early.
Here are two recipes for amazingly tasty cocktails that you will LOVE!
Teary Acceptance
Created by Micaela Piccoolo, Distilled
Ingredients:
1/2 part Frangelico
1 part Scotch
¼ part Orange Liqueur (Cointreau or Grand Marnier)
¼ part Palo Cortado Sherry
Method:
Combine ingredients in a rocks glass and stir well, then add the rocks!
Garnish with a lemon twist
Golden Statue
Created by Shaun Dunn (The NoMad – Flatiron)
Ingredients:
.5 oz. Frangelico
1 oz. Fino Sherry
1 oz. Cinzano 1757
.75 oz. Amontillado Sherry
.5 oz. Lemon Juice
2 Dashes of Orange Bitters
Method:
Combine all ingredients and whip shake with 3 ice cubes.
Pour into Collins glass over ice.
Top with tonic and garnish with a lemon wheel.
Enjoy these great drinks tonight or anytime– especially in a small party with friends on Sunday night to watch the Oscars!!
