The laid-back vibe of the Globes makes for a giddy parade of sexy and sophisticated hairstyles! Here are my favorite hairstyles
from the party of the year in HOLLYWOOD! #topknots #80sglamour #softwaves
BEST IN SHOW! (5 women whose hair rocked it!)
Top-knot hairstyles are all the rage on red carpets around the world and Lily’s is a knock-out! This flawlessly executed braided bun is the gold standard
for hairstylists everywhere. The soft texture of her hair and the effortless placement of the bun on the crown of her head perfectly compliment the delicate lacing of her rose-colored Zuhair Murad gown!
From her starring role in the movie E.T. as a child to her extraordinary journey to leading lady, Ms. Barrymore is old-school Hollywood personified. Her infectious laugh and fun spirit always shine through any hair and wardrobe choice, but tonight everything fell into place and her hair was just the crowning glory of a girl in her element. Of course, a few added extensions and a modern curling iron set were the secrets to this rockin’ hairstyle! ( Silver and white sequined cape sleeve sheath by Monique Lhuillier )
This oh-so-pretty and oh-so-hot lob (long bob) is a showstopper. The deep, side part, loose waves and perfect length make Kristen look like a modern day Veronica Lake. FYI, her gazillion-dollar chandelier earrings and Tom Ford black sequined gown oozes 80’s glamour.
This is how an expecting Mother on the red-carpet should look! Natalie’s beautiful half-up, half-down hairdo is beyond perfect. Her hair looks so healthy, the color is so rich and her choice of jewels (Tiffany) and yellow gown (Prada) are breathtaking. She has the Golden glow of a mom-to-be and the look of a major movie star!
Ponytail perfection! It is so rare that a girl can pull off a ponytail on the red-carpet. The very tight pull-back of the hair and the super lux soft waves of the ponytail provide the exact balance needed for this look. Her multiple shades of pink Gucci gown with it’s scalloped train is a refreshing burst of color against her brunette hair. She looks stunning!
Her black and white Prive’ Armani gown is a huge statement look for any red-carpet, but the polka-dot embellishments in the hair are a little distracting. But, let’s keep our eye on this young starlet. I bet she will keep surprising us with unique looks for years to come.
EVAN RACHEL WOOD
She said that her look was inspired by Greta Garbo and David Bowie! The razor-sharp cut of her Altuzarra tuxedo was exquisite. Thanks to Hillary Clinton, the pantsuit is enjoying a spike in popularity. Her hairstyle seemed too structured, and the black and white ombre effect of her hair color was a bit off.
But, kudos to Rachel for strutting her stuff in such a bold ensemble.
And there you have it, my yearly wrap-up of red-carpet hairstyles from the Golden Globes. I will be back next month with my Oscar Blog!
