Here’s a short bio on Harper Watters: (courtesy of Balancing Pointe & Ask Megan Show)
Harper Watters is a Corps de Ballet member of the Houston Ballet. He was born in Atlanta, Georgia then later moved to Dover, New Hampshire where he began his training at Portsmouth School of Ballet.
At the age of 15, Harper auditioned and received a full scholarship to Walnut Hill School for the Performing Arts, a boarding school in Natick, Massachusetts. He credits his time at Walnut Hill as the true moment his dance career began. Prior to auditioning, Harper was enrolled in dance classes three times per week at a dance competition studio. Walnut Hill offered him the opportunity to further his study of dance and train among teachers and peers who shared the same passion.
Since Harper Watters is very much a youtube sensation, here’s his bio from youtube:
I am a ballet dancer with Houston Ballet, proud BeyHive member, and lover of all things social media and pop culture! Oh and sometimes I run around in pink heels.
He’s now a soloist with the Houston Ballet and his career is a priority!

Here’s a bit of the article excerpted right here for you- but you NEED to see the entire thing.
Harper Watters is a ballet dancer for today’s generation. A social media maestro and a charismatic performer, the Houston Ballet soloist is equally at home in front of the camera hosting his hit YouTube series, “The Pre Show”; interacting with fans on his crazy-popular Instagram account; or showing off his beautiful classical technique onstage. It’s a multifaceted identity that’s proven to be invaluable to his career—and it’s taking him to places he never even dreamed of.
Watters was born in Atlanta, GA, but was adopted at two weeks old and raised in Dover, NH. He started tap and jazz classes at an early age. “I was a constant mover as a kid,” he says. But his first exposure to ballet wasn’t in the classroom—it was via a VHS tape of New York City Ballet’s production of The Nutcracker. “I watched it 10,000 times,” he says. “I even choreographed my own one-man Nutcracker over a holiday break.”
