Whole Foods 365 Opens Long Beach, CA. Store !(#3 in So. Cal.) 4/25! First 100 Customers Get Gift Cards!

Here’s the news blast on the latest edition of the Whole Foods 365 collection to open. While I might be a little redundant here, bear with me because this is a fabulous store you will want to see – and visit on a regular basis if you are in the greater South Bay to Orange County border area!
I was invited to the media tour last week and was really happy with what I saw. The store was still in the process of being put together whether it was banks of veggie bins to stocking shelves. It was definitely a work in progress yet it looked like it was almost ready to open.
Here’s my spin on this new store that I know will be one of my latest haunts.. and it’s only 1 mile from where I live! I can walk there in a pinch and it’s one of the key stores in this new shopping center with fast casual restaurants, Ulta, Nordstrom Rack, Orchard and lots more! Yes, it’s a very mixed blend but given that this area is truly a melting pot of people from all kinds of demographics, this will be a “destination” shopping center with a twist!

What I have done is take the information on the key points about this great store and using it as the framework for photos I shot at this amazing event. I will share the swag tomorrow so that you can see what I got to try.

The first Whole Foods Market 365 location in Long Beach opens Wednesday, April 25 at 9 a.m. at 3881 N. Lakewood Boulevard. This 28,000 square foot store is the eighth Whole Foods Market 365 in the country, and the third in Southern California, joining the Santa Monica and Silver Lake locations. The fourth will open soon in Upland on May 30.

Whole Foods Market 365 takes the “neighborhood grocery store” concept to the next level by focusing on value, convenience and unique retail innovations while keeping Whole Foods Market’s industry-leading quality standards. The store will offer high-quality products free of artificial flavors, colors, sweeteners, preservatives and hydrogenated fats.

“We can’t wait to bring Whole Foods Market 365’s easy, everyday shopping experience to Long Beach for the very first time,” said Store Team Leader Moses Garcia. “Our Long Beach store will have something for everyone, whether you’re looking for great deals on fresh produce, convenient weeknight meal solutions or healthy prepared food options to take out or dine in.”

Whole Foods Market 365 Long Beach is also a convenient neighborhood dining destination full of healthy and on-trend options through the Friends of 365 program. The store will contain the first Long Beach outposts of Southern California brands Yellow Fever and Groundwork Coffee, and ample café seating is available for dining in.

Regular store hours are 7 a.m. to 10 p.m. seven days a week.

Exciting Features & Flavors

Yellow Fever: Open daily from 11 a.m. to 10 p.m.

The Yellow Fever Menu!

Yellow Fever serves healthy and modern takes on a variety of traditional Asian dishes with their signature bowls, which are made with premium proteins and high-quality ingredients. Originally started in Torrance, Yellow Fever’s Long Beach location will be their first to serve beer and wine, and host happy hour events.

A sampling of Yellow Fever Bowls!

Groundwork Coffee: Open daily from 6 a.m. to 9 p.m.

Groundwork Tee (a pre-opening gift from the brand)

Groundwork Coffee’s menu includes delicious coffees, teas and handcrafted espresso drinks, along with baked goods and made-to-order brunch favorites like breakfast sandwiches and tacos. All of Groundwork’s coffees and teas are organic, ethically sourced from every coffee growing region, and roasted locally in Southern California.

Stevie Note: This brand is based in Culver City and this is the latest store and it’s the farthest the chain has gone to expand their brand. The organic coffee is phenomenal. They also have food too- particularly tasty things!

Affordable, high-quality produce:
This is the produce and “grab & go” area before it’s been finished. This is what it looked like just one week ago.

Find a vast selection of the freshest produce that includes over 200 organic options, and convenient pre-cut vegetables like zucchini noodles and riced cauliflower that make healthy meal prep quick and easy.

Stevie Note:
Here’s the latest improvement to make checking out a breeze. It’s a computerized tagging machine. You pick out your produce and snag the SKU number on the sign. Drop it on the scale and input the sku and it will weigh the produce, calculate what the price is via the SKU and print out a label for you to put on the produce bag. This will streamline your check-out like crazy!

Fresh meat & seafood:
Bulk Purchase bins and the Seafood are in the back. To the left of the Seafood is the meat area as well as more “Grab & Go!”

Look for our “Butcher’s Cut” specialty cuts, prepared in house daily, along with value packs of affordable household favorites. Fresh, ready-to-cook marinated meat and seafood like chimichurri steak and lemon thyme salmon makes delicious weeknight meals a breeze.

Innovative new flavors from 365 Everyday Value: Our 365 Everyday Value brand products bring the latest culinary trends to shoppers at an affordable price without sacrificing quality. Customers can even find our brand new Korean-inspired line of gochujang condiments, like gochujang ketchup, hot sauce and marinades.

Carefully curated product selection: Our buyers and experts are always on the lookout for the latest trends and greatest products that also deliver strong value. Some of our favorite finds at 365 Long Beach include Beyond Meat’s new vegan offering Beyond Sausage, vegan and paleo superfood ice treats from Snow Monkey in Santa Monica and even Shottys grab-and-go “party-ready” vodka gelatin shots.

Specialty cheeses:

Cheese and Charcuterie bay.

Planning a party? Stop by the specialty cheese department for a hand-picked selection of over 75 convenient grab-and-go artisanal cheeses. The curated selection ranges from Vermont Creamery’s Minimont, which is produced exclusively for Whole Foods Market 365 stores, to burrata from Southern California’s own Di Stefano Cheese.

Some of the best sushi I have ever tasted! They even have vegan versions of the susi!

Build-your-own salad and meals at hot and cold bars with fresh ingredients. Shoppers can pick up ready-made wraps, sushi by Kikka, Detroit-style square pizza by the slice, sandwiches, pastas, and breakfast tacos, plus crowd-pleasing favorites like cakes, pies, fruit and veggie trays.

Grab & go sandwiches. The array of food is amazing!

Sandwich Counter:
For made-to-order options, step up to Whole Foods Market 365’s very first custom sandwich counter and build it yourself or order signature sandwiches, like a Los Angeles collaboration between Larder Baking Company and James Beard Award-winning chef Suzanne Goin.

Fresh baked goods:

A small display of Larder Bakery’s pastries! This brand is phenomenal!

Pick up baked goods by local favorite Larder Baking Company, and choose from a selection of fresh cookies, pastries and hearth breads. Plus, a bulk cookie bar will offer cookies by the pound.

On-site pairing kiosk:

Stevie Note: This is one amazing device. The computer will even email you the recipe(s) of your choice that work with wine you have chosen!

Wine Wall

Scan wine, beer or spirits for food pairing ideas, ratings, user reviews and recommendations. The beverage selection also includes Southern California favorites like beer from Strand Brewing and spirits from Mulholland Distilling.

Refrigerated Beer Cases
