Most of us know that we should aim to get eight hours of untroubled sleep per night. This figure has been cited for many years and it has become the number that people strive to achieve. Eight hours of sleep allows our body and mind to rest and also to perform vital functions such as repairing damaged cells

There are many factors that influence the quality of your sleep. Maybe your mattress is old it’s time to replace it with a better one – luckily you can easily find the best mattress for your particular needs by looking through some online mattress reviews. Then again, it might be your diet or you aren’t getting enough exercise. Whatever the case may be, there is no question that we need sleep to function at our peak performance levels, however there are many instances, as you will see, where people have lived extraordinary lives with more or less than eight hours of sleep.

This infographic showcases for your benefit a host of truly bizarre sleeping habits from a myriad of famous individuals. We have created it for your enjoyment, but also to show that if you do not gain eight hours of sleep a day not all is lost! We can take a look at a few examples to see how people have gone above and beyond with either hardly any sleep at all or more sleep than you could ever possibly need! For example, legendary physicist Albert Einstein enjoyed 10 hours of sleep per day and took regular naps during the day – he still managed to develop the theory of relativity!

On the flip side, revolutionary physicist and astronomer Isaac Newton only slept for 3 or 4 hours per night but still had the mental power to formulate the laws of motion. Finally, the US president, Donald Trump, works for 19 hours per day and gets by with only sleeping for between 3 to 4 hours per night!

If you continue to read through the infographic, you will see a myriad of other interesting sleeping habits of the rich, influential, and famous. If you suffer from a sleep-related condition, take solace from this infographic and understand that you can still live a normal life!
