Celebrity makeup artist Tym Buacharern created the lash look for Danai Gurira on the red carpet tonight at the 91st Academy Awards using Lashify products.
It’s a bronzy, golden goddess look fit for a Wakanda Warrior.
“We wanted something clean and neutral, but it’s the Oscars, so neutral isn’t really neutral,” says makeup artist Tym Buacharern. The lashes needed to be “dramatic, but still wispy” for the Black Panther star, a presenter at tonight’s awards ceremony.”
Starting at the inner corner of the top lashline, Buacharern alternated Lashify 14mm, natural-style “A” Gossamers (clusters) and 16mm, dense and intense “B” Gossamers. Then, to elongate the look of Danai’s eyes, he stacked three more 14mm natural-style “A” Gossamers on top.
“We wanted to push it a little further tonight,” says Buacharern. “But with Lashify, the band is so thin that it’s undetectable. It just looks like she has incredibly long lashes.”
This wasn’t Danai’s first time wearing Lashify, and we’re sure it won’t be her last. Wakanda, and Lashify, forever.
