Give a Mom a Fabulous Gift: Traveling to Marrakech (Morocco) for a Culinary and Cultural Adventure!

Courtesy of my friends at Pitcher and Powell, give Mom the treat of a lifetime – a trip to Morocco with a women-only group. This makes a great Mother’s Day gift,  birthday or anniversary present or a trip to expand your experiences.

The group is helmed by Barbara Pitcher and Tasha Powell. It’s a great way to experience Morocco and more specifically Marrakesh from the unique perspective of food and the culture with a group of women! You get to explore many souks and markets as well as take an “off-road” trip to see the desert and the Atlas Mountains.

Who is Pitcher and Powell:

Pitcher & Powell offers a unique International Travel and Culinary Adventure; an opportunity for travelers who want to meet other foodie’s and discover new regions, customs, and seasonal foods.

If your idea of travel means taking the time to immerse yourself in local cultural and culinary traditions, we encourage you to explore our current programs.

Barbara Pitcher, a Canadian/Italian artist who lives to eat and loves to cook, and Tasha Powell, a Cordon Bleu Chef and food stylist, are your hosts for this one-of-a-kind adventure!

This adventure is just that- an adventure with like-minded women to explore Marrakech and other areas of Morocco to learn and experience this fabulous destination!

Sample Itinerary

In a pleasant contrast to busy city life, a peaceful and serene atmosphere reigns as soon as you set foot inside the Riad. Les Clos des Arts becomes the perfect escape from the madness of the Medina of Marrakesh.

The hosts of the house welcome their guests with warmth, care, and attention to provide them a wonderful experience in a friendly atmosphere. The decor is understated and tasteful, with small, thoughtful, touches throughout the house.  You will notice the scent of orange blossoms and fresh flowers in the rooms and in several corners of the house.  You will hear the relaxing sound of gushing fountains and the harmonious notes of relaxing background music.

The house surrounds two peaceful inner courtyards with mandarin and palm trees and offers several relaxing corners, alcoves and a fireplace. Breakfast is served on the roof terrace which offers a small plunge pool, sun beds and a shaded lounge. Even when not in your room, guests still enjoy a wonderful sense of calm and seclusion. The house is provides daily housekeeping, kitchen and table service, as well as assistance to guests.
