Sue Wong’s Academy Gala Delivers Oscar Night Asian Chic and Celebrities!

Among this year’s glittering Oscar night galas, designer Sue Wong delivered yet another heady combo of resplendent Asian Chic among a cast of stars served with her own signature flair in the uber-elegant Taglyan Complex in Hollywood. The “Living Canvas of Oscar Night” showcased a glamorous selection of fashion and entertainment offerings designed to inspire the spirit through art, philanthropy, and spirituality.

Although it was an evening of multiple awards, a major winner was Project Angel Food, a nonprofit that delivers 15,000 nutritious meals each week to those affected by life-threatening illnesses in Los Angeles. With more than 300 guests in attendance, The Sue Wong Academy Gala stunned the audience with an Iconic retrospective fashion show and awe-inspiring performances by Shaolin Temple monks accompanied by female drummers who electrified the entire event. Project Angel Food’s CEO Richard Ayoub was honored with the Humanitarian of the Year award, as well as  Christine Devine with the Broadcast Icon Award, Nigel Daly with the British Icon Award, and many more.

This year the Sue Wong Academy Gala awarded Project Angel Food.

“What a night to remember,” said Scott Page, saxophone and rhythm guitarist for Pink Floyd. “The fashion, location, entertainment, and atmosphere brought people together on Oscar night in a way that no one else could. Sue Wong is a host unlike any other!”

The FASHIONS:

Instead of bejeweled crowns, gorgeous feathered headdresses reminiscent of the glorious grande dames of the Court of Versailles with a gracious bow to the Golden Age of Hollywood.

A nouveau Marie Antoinette kept her head this time clad in glittering white.

A wine red evening dress dazzled on the runway like a fragrant fashion vintage nectar promising delights and surprises.

The runway offered it’s own angels to the City of Angels.

And grounding this celestial affair, a veritable murder of crows dressed in black tempted us all with the promise of mystery and danger.

This star-studded affair offered a unique performance of Shaolin Monks alongside several notable entertainers and both were entertaining and dazzling. But the intimate conversation was highlighted by the praise of the Best Picture Oscar that went to PARASITE. Alongside, Hollywood’s elite, gorgeous models, mingled with rock stars and monks providing a unique assembly of fame, art and spirituality.

Additional celebrity entertainment included singer /songwriter, Debby Holiday, recording Bex Marshall, actress/singer Maria Elena Infantine, pop-phenom Shelita and many more.
