How is QWO administered?
QWO™ is a clear, odorless water-like mixture that is injected through tiny needles into the dimples responsible for creating the appearance of cellulite. By injecting directly into cellulite, Qwo™ may help to break down or release the collagen-rich bands that pull on the skin surface and contribute to “dimpling.” This has never been accomplished before with either an in-office or over-the-counter treatment.
How many sessions do patients need?
This is performed in 3 sessions spaced 21 days apart.
What kind of results can I expect from QWO?
With any treatment, it’s important for patients to have realistic expectations. With the evidence from the initial study, it appears that QWO much like other cellulite treatments—will significantly reduce but not totally eradicate cellulite.
How long does it take to see results?
Visible results may be achieved in 10 weeks.* In clinical trials, women received 3 treatments, 21 days apart. Results assessed 28 days after 3rd treatment.
How long does the procedure take and is there downtime after?
Injections take as little as 10 minutes. In clinical trials, women required no post-treatment downtime. The most common side effects of QWO include: injection site bruising, pain, areas of hardness, itching, redness, discoloration, swelling, and warmth in the treatment area.
Who is a good candidate for this treatment?
The ideal patient is an adult woman who has moderate to severe cellulite with dimpling on the buttock area. Clinical data has shown that it works for women of all skin types and tones. Pregnant women should consult with their doctor. Although the treatment has only been FDA-approved for the derriere, some practitioners have been using it on the thigh area as well.
