Fuego at the Maya is offering Valentine’s Cupid Saturday brunch and Valentine’s Day dinner!

                     The legendary author Virginia Woolf said that,
“one cannot think well, love well, sleep well, if one has not dined well.”


Celebrate the beauty of food and love this Valentine’s Day weekend at the romantic waterfront restaurant, Fuego at the Maya. The modern, Latin-infused indoor-outdoor restaurant and lounge boast a unique seaside setting that overlooks the Queen Mary and the downtown Long Beach skyline.
The Valentine’s weekend festivities begin mid-February and run through the end of the month.

From, Friday, Feb. 11 through Monday, Feb. 28, Fuego offers the luxe Cupid Cabana of Love, a semi-private, swanky, holiday-themed, romantic spot. Reservations are required.

“Love is in the air in Fuego and all around at Hotel Maya with our specialized cabana and sweetheart menu dishes made with love,” said Greg Guthrie, General Manager at Hotel Maya – a DoubleTree by Hilton. “Valentine’s is always a special time with romance at the water’s edge.”

 

            Valentine’s Day Dinner on Monday, Feb. 14 will be served from 5-10 p.m. to the accompaniment of Don Sistos, a Latin acoustic guitarist. Reservations are recommended.
The starters include
–a Lobster and Corn Bisque made of succulent morsels of lobster meat, corn relish, and serrano cream;
–an
Heirloom Carrot Salad of tri-colored baby carrots, avocado, rajas, red onion, cilantro, crumbled Feta cheese, and lavender citrus vinaigrette;
–Maryland Lump Crab Cake with 
manzano pepper coulis, and watercress salad;
–a Grilled Artichoke Hearts marinated in lemon, sea salt, cracked pepper, thyme, olive oil, red lentil hummus, crumbled feta, and grilled lavosh.
            Continue with delicious entrée options include
–a
Tenderloin of Beef, a char-crusted filet mignon, a whiskey peppercorn sauce, Valdeón blue cheese, a Peruvian potato purée, and honey glazed carrots;
–the
Colorado Lamb Chop, a mushroom crusted lamb chop, mint leaf glaze, a celery root purée, and pickled sugar snap peas;
–P
an-Roasted Sea Bass with fried sage butter sauce, blistered tomatoesspinach, fingerling potatoes, arugula, and lobster garnish;
–White Truffle Risotto with crème fraîche, parmigiana Reggiano cheese, spinach, mushrooms, black beans, roasted corn, and pico de gallo.

            Indulge in the dessert options:
— Chocolate Caramel Cake: a chocolate brown butter cake, caramel, sea salt, chocolate buttercream, and caramelized Rice Krispies;
or  —Vanilla Créme Brulée, of 
caramelized sugar and grand mariner soaked berries.

Valentine’s Cupid Saturday Brunch on Feb. 13 is from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. and includes one free mimosa with additional mimosa at $5 each. The Francisco Reyes Trio will perform live music.

Incredible brunch options are available include the following:
–Ropa Vieja Chilaquiles, with corn fried tortillas, braised short rib, black bean tomatillo salsa, serrano cream, fried eggs, and fried plantains;
–Eggs Benedict, two poached eggs served on sweet potato cakes with artichoke heart, onion, spinach, asparagus broiled tomato, and topped with Hollandaise sauce;
–Pan dulce French Toast, is a strawberry cream stacked brioche toast with candied pecans, maple syrup and whipped cream;
–Chicken Mole, a poached bone-in chicken breast, Oaxacan mole, epazote, sesame seeds, steamed rice, and Mexican crema’;
–Seafood Enchiladas, with jumbo lump crab meat, rock shrimp, black beans, roasted poblano sauce, and corn relish.
Fuego’s three Street Tacos garnished with pickled cabbage with options to include Lime Chicken, with cilantro, onion, and tequila crema; Grilled Skirt Steak, with onion, cilantro, and chile de àrbol;  Mahi Mahi, with pickled cabbage-chili, pico de gallo, and chipotle aioli; and Beef Barbacoa, a slow-braised short rib, onion, cilantro, and chile serrano cream.

It wouldn’t be a special brunch without an incredible dessert.

–Flourless Chocolate Cake, with raspberry and mascarpone cream, Amaretto cookie crumbs, chocolate curls, and Tahitian vanilla cream;
–Cherry Peach Cobbler, an iron skillet cherry and peach cobbler served with Häagen-Dazs Vanilla ice cream, and caramel sauce;
Fuego’s homemade
Churros, fried dough sticks with cinnamon, sugar, caramel sauce, and Häagen-Dazs Vanilla ice cream.

 

Special drinks throughout the month of February include
–featured drink Love Spritz, made with Reposado tequila, Aperol, St. Germain Elderflower
 Liqueur, Prosecco, and sliced strawberries;
–Whiskey Amor, with Maker’s Mark Bourbon, St. Germain Elderflower Liqueur, lemon, agave nectar, grenadine, and mint leaves;
–Fuego’s Signature Fuego Margarita, made with Reposado tequila, Cointreau, lime, and agave nectar ­– available as Skinny, Spicy, Strawberry, and Mango.
–There are also dozens of beer options from craft to imported bottles.

Fuego— the modern, Latin-infused indoor-outdoor restaurant and lounge– offers a unique seaside setting featuring 13-foot-tall glass walls that fully retract with seating on the patio area.
