Netflix’s Squid Game and animated series Arcane were close behind with four apiece (Arcane included three juried awards).

Lee Yoo-mi — exclaiming “I’m so very happy” — won the Emmy for guest actress in a drama for playing Ji-yeong in Squid Game, making her the first Korean actress to win this category.

For both, it was their first Emmy.

Nathan Lane won his first Primetime Emmy, for guest actor in a comedy series, for his role as Teddy Dimas in Only Murders in the Building (he also has a pair of Daytime Emmys). This was his record seventh nomination in this category, having also been nominated for guest roles in Frasier, Mad About You, Modern Family, and The Good Wife. He’s now halfway to EGOT, having previously won a trio of Tonys.

Laurie Metcalf won her fourth Emmy on Sunday, for guest actress in a comedy series, for her work as Weed on Hacks.

RuPaul won an Emmy for hosting his RuPaul’s Drag Race, extending his record as the most honored person of color in Emmy history,
with a total of 12 wins and seven consecutive wins for outstanding host.

In addition to Lane, a number of winners moved a step closer to EGOT.

Adele is just a Tony away from EGOT, as are Paul McCartney and Ringo Starr for Get Back.

And Get Back helmer and producer Peter Jackson is at halfway to this distinction, having won three Oscars for
The Lord of the Rings: The Return of the King.

The Pepsi Super Bowl LVI Halftime Show won three Emmys including one for outstanding live variety special.
With that win, Jay-Z, Dr. Dre, Mary J. Blige, and Kendrick Lamar are now halfway to EGOT, adding an Emmy to their Grammy
hauls. And Eminem is now just one Tony away from this distinction.

Stranger Things rerecording mixer Mark Paterson is now halfway to EGOT, having previously won an Oscar for Les Miserables.

Capping the second day of the awards, Disney+’s Chip ‘n’ Dale: Rescue Rangers won the Emmy for outstanding television movie, perhaps the biggest wild card category of the season.
