Cocktails for Celebrating the New Year!

Here are some great cocktails that will give your New Years Eve some spice and great flavors!

Hot Caramel Buttered Rum

This rich combination of rum, brown sugar, honey, unsalted butter, and baking spices is just as cozy as the classic Hot Buttered Rum. The twist: an ounce of caramel-flavored vodka.

Ingredients

  • 2 tablespoons brown sugar
  • 2 tablespoons honey
  • 2 tablespoons unsalted butter, softened
  • 1 teaspoon ground cinnamon
  • 1/2 teaspoon ground cloves
  • 1/2 teaspoon ground nutmeg
  • 3 ounces rum
  • 1 oz caramel-flavored vodka
  • Hot water, to top
  • Garnish: cinnamon sticks

Method:

1)Split ingredients between two Irish coffee mugs. In each mug, stir together half of the
brown sugar, honey, unsalted butter, cinnamon, cloves, and nutmeg until they form a batter.

2) Add half of the rum and caramel-flavored vodka to each mug, then top with hot water.

3)Stir vigorously until the batter is fully dissolved.

4)Garnish each drink with a cinnamon stick.

 

Coquito:
 :

Ingredients

  • 56 ounces– sweetened condensed milk
  • 48 ouncesevaporated milk
  • 24 ouncescream of coconut (such as Coco Lopez)
  • 4  teaspoons vanilla extract
  • 4  teaspoons ground cinnamon
  • 1  teaspoon ground nutmeg
  • 750 milliliters (1 bottle) white, añejo, or spiced Puerto Rican rum
  • Garnish: cinnamon sticks (1 per storage bottle and 2 per individual serving)

Steps

Serves at least 16.

  1. Add sweetened condensed milk, evaporated milk, cream of coconut, vanilla extract, ground cinnamon and ground nutmeg into a saucepan over medium heat. Bring to a simmer, stirring constantly. Remove from heat and let cool.

  2. Add the rum and stir to combine.

  3. Transfer to sealable bottles and add 1 cinnamon stick to each bottle. Seal and store in the refrigerator.

  4. Serve over ice in rocks glasses.

  5. Garnish each glass with 2 cinnamon sticks.

 

         Brandy Alexander:

Ingredients

  • 1 1/2 ounces cognac
  • 1-ounce dark creme de cacao
  • 1-ounce cream
  • Garnish: grated nutmeg

METHOD:

  • Add cognac, dark creme de cacao, and cream into a shaker with ice and shake until well-chilled.

  • Strain into a chilled cocktail glass or a coupe glass.

  • Garnish with freshly grated nutmeg
