Rev Theory Revs the Music Engine Touring Across US + Podcast!

Go back a few weeks and you will have seen Rev Theory mentioned in a CD review along with another band of the same alt/metal genre. Rev Theory got wind of my review and gave me a bit of time to talk to them while they were heading out for six nights straight of performances -- all during a massive snowstorm in the midwest. Actually I think they were in Des Moines, Iowa and I got 3 of the 5 members for a very interesting phone conversation.

Let's preface this by saying you know typically what I cover: indie/alt, blues, jazz, even some pop, top 40, even hip-hop as well as more ethnic music. What hits my car's cd player can range from Gregorian Chants, Schumann, Jay Nash, JD Souther and now it's stretched in the metal direction to Rev Theory who's been tearing up my cd player pretty good and even my iPod.

Here are two videos from Rev Theory (official ones that I was dying to get.)

Light It Up:

Far From Over -- this one happens to be a great song as well. The lyrics are potent, powerful, deep and show the willingness to go the distance to preserve the relationship-- which is interesting given the typical content from the genre. But that's the point of the podcast and the review: Rev Theory breaks the genre mold to be something that I feel is really fresh, new, definitely worth seeing and listening to and should be part of your music collection.

Hell Yeah (Live from Kansas City)-- a song that kicks the CD into high gear right from the top.

Touring dates:

Dec 31 2009 7:00P KQRC 98.9 FM PRESENTS "THE BIG BALL" @ THE MIDLAND , Kansas City Missouri,
