Red Carpet Secrets: Tips for Great Brows Courtesy of RAMY!

If you don't have great looking brows, your face and your makeup don't look quite right. Celebrities have their favorite brow grooming specialists and one of the best is RAMY who is based in NYC.

While celebs can afford to have their brows cleaned up every few weeks, it's not always affordable for you and me. So here are some tips from Ramy on how to groom your own brows.

What's the biggest mistake women make in tweezing their brows?

Ramy: The biggest mistakes women make when tweezing their brows is to either make them too thin or putting the arch in the wrong place.

How do you know which tweezer is right for you?

Ramy: As a rule, look for a precisely balanced tweezer that's angled with a rounded tip - if the tips are not aligned the tweezer will not grab hair properly causing breakage. A rounded tip is gentle on the delicate skin around the eye and the angle allows for grabbing the tiniest hairs. Tweezerman tweezers are the best! My favorite, of course, is the RAMY Tweezer by Tweezerman, which I designed to be the optimum brow tweezing tool.

What basic brow products should you use in addition to shaping with a tweezer and why?

Ramy: Invest in Curved Safety Scissors to trim excess length. The curve follows the natural line of your brow and prevents trimming a hard line. A small brush is another must-have to comb through the eyebrows. I like my Browtility Brush, which is double ended. One end brushes through the hair and the other can be used to apply brow filler.

How can you avoid tweezing too thin or putting the arch in the wrong place? How do you know it's in the wrong place?

Ramy: Take a conservative approach when trimming or tweezing your brows. When tweezing, and in doubt, leave the hair to be plucked another day! It's very difficult to be objective when shaping your own brows. People tend to focus on the strays and not see the big picture. It's always a good idea to have your brows shaped professionally and then follow the line for as long as you can.
