NYFW– Fashion for the Masses or Just for the Upper Classes? a Fashiontribes LA Story Blog

What is it about fashion week that makes people so insane? I know that people push, shove and jockey their way into these shows– and it’s no better or different in LA though there are seat assignments (not that it guarantees you a seat!)

When you look at what comes down the runway, do you ever see yourself wearing those clothes? Do you have the lifestyle that even if you had one of the outfits in your closet that you would wear it?

I have been looking at the collections and generally speaking, things I personally would buy are few and far between– plus the colors are way too dark (again.. yes.. where is the color?)

I love the feel of some collections but generally   I wouldn’t spend that kind of money. I would go vintage and find some things to put together to look somewhat like  some collections.

I am going to review the collections again. It’s been so crazy busy here in LA with the Grammy events, that NYFW became an after-thought and quite frankly, it’s more interesting fashionably just to see what was –or wasn’t — worn.

The goody bags were interesting –look for a piece on that!

More importantly, do you feel that these collections this year were ground-breaking? Were they interesting? Did it make you want to go out and BUY something? Did it make you re-think your wardrobe? Or did it feel just like more of the same almost ho-hum?

what are your thoughts?

That’s the LA Story!
