It’s a holiday weekend and it’s time to have a party- even if it’s a party of 1 or 2 or a group of 25-50! You can have a great time and generally speaking great weather on both coasts! We have all kinds of great cocktails for this weekend and we are starting off with the Sex and the City Cocktails– just because we can — so we will. Plus they are easy to make and easy to take to a party.
Carrie’s Romance: for the girl who loves romance and will hopefully get it right this time around!
4 oz Pommery POP or Sparkling Wine
1 oz Van Gogh Pomegranate Vodka
Pour chilled Van Gogh Pomegranate Vodka into a flute. Top with sparkling wine and garnish with a strawberry.
Desert Oasis: inspired by the ladies’ trip to a desert resort
2 oz Van Gogh Vanilla Vodka
2 oz Hazelnut liqueur
1 oz Amaretto
1-1/2 oz Cream
Rim martini glass with cinnamon and sugar crystals and set aside. Pour all ingredients into a shaker with ice and shake. Strain into the martini glass.
Want a more serious but fun drink? This is where it gets really interesting with some unusual concoctions featuring gin, tequila and something new from Bolivia!
Corzo White Sand Martini
1.5 parts CORZO Silver Tequila
1.5 parts White Grape Juice
.75 parts St. Germain
.75 parts sweet & sour
Add all ingredients in a shaker with ice. Shake and strain into a martini glass. White sugar ¼ of the glass rim if desired.
Bombay Red, White, and Sapphire( this one is super yummy!)
1.5 Parts Bombay Sapphire
1 Part Fresh Lemon Juice
.75 Parts Simple Syrup
3-4 Fresh Raspberries
3 Parts Club Soda
Garnish: Sprig of Mint Leafs
Muddle raspberries with simple syrup and lemon juice. Add ice, Bombay Sapphire and stir well. Add more ice and top with club soda.
Agwa de Bolivia– the coca plant-derived liquor. (You have to try this to wrap your head, tongue, and tastebuds around this experience. The “coca” has been removed from the spirit– but some of the buzz is still there)
3 parts Tequila (Corzo or Cazadores are excellent choices)
1 part Agwa de Bolivia– maybe a smidge more if you like– for a more herbal/floral effect 1 part each fresh lime juice — like Volcano Liime Juice and Volcano Lemon Juice for jolts of serious citrus flavor.
Toss it into a cocktail shaker OR a blender and watch out for the buzz that hits you from the Agwa de Bolivia. It’s a fun drink. You can drink this straight up in a margarita glass, frozen in any kind of glass or on the rocks if you are using a shaker. Definitely a unique taste!
