Known and reknown for his design aesthete inside and outside, Jamie Durie is an award-winning designer for products for inside and outside as well as horticultural designs to be used in a variety of ways. A huge leader in “turning the design world upside down”, his use of vertical gardening and other means of gardening give one pause and a revival of gardening in new ways that are sustainable, practical and fun.
He’s won a slew of design awards from 2008 through 2012 (2013 isn’t over yet) and he’s got alignments with great shows like The Outdoor Room on HGTV, several books and also now a collaboration with Lowe’s Home Improvement Centers.
Jamie Durie was in Malaysia when this was shot — and it was evening for him and early am for me! Wow!! So he show some amazing things you can do to create “outdoor rooms” and how vertical gardening makes such sense (and lots of different kinds of plants can grow that way including veggies and herbs) these days. Cover up the ugly walls and use vertical plants — and create more spaces for you & your friends to hang out! There’s also a sweepstakes from Lowe’s stores with whom Jamie Durie is partnering. Everything seen in this video is available at Lowes!! Hit the Lowes.com/pinterestsweepstakes page and ENTER!
Thanks to Jamie Durie for his time. Unfortunately we ran out of time due to the lag in the tape delay in recording the voice on both ends.

This is a contest I would love to win. I need some major outdoor redesign in my back yard.
