Looking for really diverse cocktails for New Years Eve? Well I have some. I don’t usually dabble in Rye Whiskey (AKA Rye Bourbon) but I have 2 for that spirit, a great rum, a specialty spirit and some interesting add-ons!
Rum Raisin Cocktail
1.75 oz Diplomatico Reserva Exclusiva Rum
1 Bar spoon Fig Preserves
.5 oz Agave Nectar
.5 oz Lemon Juice Fig Preserves
( I have no idea where to get this combo but I know you can get fig preserves or jam and you can add a spoonful or two of fresh lemon juice to it and mix it in!)
Putting it together!
Add ingredients in a Boston glass. Add ice and shake
vigorously. Strain into rocks glass.
Garnish with raisins.
Four Roses Cider— (large group beverage)
2 parts apple cider
(Get really good apple cider. Organic is a good choice. Don’t skimp when it comes to a cocktails. No added sugar and 100% juice!)
1 part Four Roses Yellow Label (single barrel straight whiskey)
5-7 Cinnamon Sticks
Mix ingredients in a crock pot on low for 2½ hours before your guests are arriving (your home will smell wonderful!).
Serve in a coffee mug with a cinnamon stick for garnish.
** For those not imbibing on New Years Eve, you can create a good-sized spaghetti pot full of cider without the bourbon and use the same spices! Also you can add fresh nutmeg, pumpkin pie spice and maybe a bit of lemon to this mix as well)
1 1/2 oz. Templeton Rye
3/4 oz. Carpano Antica Formula (Vermouth!
1/2 oz. Honey Liqueur
2 dashes allspice dram
2 dashes orange bitters
Putting it all together
Mix all ingredients and pour over ice, add lemon peel for garnish
Hot Rye Bourbon
1 oz. Templeton Rye Whiskey
1 oz. Green Chartreuse
1 dash orange bitters
Putting it together:
Combine all ingredients and heat gently (as to not burn off the alcohol) until hot.
Stir, pour into a mug and enjoy!

Kusmi Tea is a world renowned tea company founded in 1867, with over 65 unique high quality blends. Kusmi’s ingredients are carefully selected from regions of India, China and Ceylon, and are then flavored with the best natural scents from Grasse, Calabria and Madagascar.
Distributed worldwide in baroque, colorful packaging dating back to the original labels, Kusmi Tea’s emphasis on taste, flavor, aroma, and creativity has spanned over two centuries and won over tea connoisseurs and consumers alike. Kusmi Tea was founded over 145 years ago in St. Petersburg, Russia by Pavel Michailovitch Kousmichoff, who learned the great art of blending tea as a boy, working as a tea merchant. Kusmi was
one of the main tea houses in Russia, as well as the supplier to the court of ancient Tsars. After teaching their eldest son the art of tea making, the Kousmichoff family migrated Kusmi Tea to a new home in Paris, fleeing from the 1917 Russian revolution. The company then developed their business all over the world, in cities including London, Berlin, Moscow, and Constantinople. Most recently, Kusmi has opened up their Parisian flagship store on the famous Champs Élysées as well as their second New York store at the Plaza Hotel’s Food Hall. In 2003, the Orebi Family acquired the brand and named Sylvain Orebi as the new CEO of Kusmi Tea. The Orebi Family has a history in the tea business, dating back to 1935. Mr. Orebi further expanded the international reach of Kusmi Tea and opened the first US store in New York City in 2010 and another in 2012. A true tea connoisseur, Mr. Orebi attributes the growing success of Kusmi Tea to the development of the highest quality of flavors that have created sophisticated, unique, and contemporary teas.

Thanks to the KUSMI people who heard about how much I loved their tea (*I had some holiday tea from 2 years ago that I have been rationing out to myself because it’s so special), they sent me some additional flavors to test-drive. I haven’t finished them yet but 1) it’s great for a party if you are the designated driver because the aroma is so intoxicating that everyone will wonder who is having that unique brew. 2) It’s perfect for keeping you healthy whether you go for the mate, green or the health and well-bringing brews. 3) It’s an unusual and really tasty and cozy drink to have after dinner with dessert or if you just wish to sit around the table and chat. It’s invites conversation, the scents, the flavors seem to help people relax and be more at ease. (That’s my take on it! ) Look for my review soon but do check out the website or find a store near you to buy some of these fabulous teas! This link will take you to the KUSMI US portal online and you can check out all the varieties they are offering this holiday season (2013)
Hope you have an opportunity to try these cocktails with friends and family. Please drink responsibly tonight!!

The preserves are a cool add. I have a few interesting ones to try. I love the tea boxes, and probably would also like the tea.
LOL now how does cider get to be non-alcoholic? over here it’s definitely not…maybe the american version is?
Fiona, we have a non-alcoholic version (flat and also carbonated) that are entirely alcohol free!! (weird huh)
Pam– the preserves add an interesting twist to the flavor. The TEA- AMAZING!! AMAZING.. this is the BEST tea around!!
