Guest post from PRZMan creator/founder, Pirooz Sarshar. What’s better than a guy telling other guys how to do it right for Valentine’s Day. We women lose all credibility and objectivity for this holiday. (REALLY – we do!) Thanks to men’s lifestyle and grooming wingman, Pirooz Sarshar, founder of PRZMan for this very straightforward guest post on how to handle surprising someone special in your life. (I wonder – does he do seminar or classes for this?)
Valentine’s Day is all about your woman. It’s definitely the perfect time to show her how much you appreciate her and to celebrate the love that you guys share. In the same way that you don’t want that itchy sweater or boring old tie as a gift, your lady is likely to be pleasantly surprised if you change up your usual box of chocolates and red-rose routine.
First of all, if you want to please her, this isn’t something that’s going to happen overnight. You’ll need some activities that lead up to Valentine’s Day. Start by complimenting her, telling her how much you appreciate her, and buying her flowers prior to the holiday. Then, on Valentine’s Day, surprise her.
Here are some ideas that are tailor-made to astonish and amaze her:
1 – Cook or hire a private chef come to your home.
On PRZMAN, we offer men guidance on how to cook and experiment with new recipes. But if you aren’t a whiz in the kitchen (burnt chateaubriand is never sexy) and you actually just want to spend time with her, hire a private chef for the evening. You can find plenty of reputable chefs who will make house calls. This may run a couple hundred bucks, but this surprise will blow her away. Meet with your chef beforehand and come up with a menu that’s themed especially for her. You could even take it to the next level by typing up the menu for the evening, which could double as a clever Valentine’s Day card.
2 – Take a trip in your city.
Who has the time or money to plan an extravagant trip in February? Just find a cool hotel in your area – one with a spa, if possible. Reserve a room for one night, and plan some activities – dinner, obviously – but more importantly, stuff to spoil her. Book a couple’s massage, manicure, pedicure or other spa services you think she’ll like. Look into the local restaurants or entertainment in the area. Talk to the concierge in advance and see what they recommend. Make sure you have a chilled bottle of champagne in the room when you arrive. Have some chocolate truffles and flowers delivered. To be successful with all the logistics, you’ll need to communicate with hotel staff and guest services to make sure everything goes smoothly.
3 – Right her name in the sky.
If you live in an area with nice weather, hire a skywriting agency. Plan a picnic before it gets dark, take her somewhere, sit outside, look up in the sky and tell her how much you love her. Skywriting firms have planes all over the country; they have fleets of planes ready to go. This romantic gesture should get you some serious brownie points. Check out www.Skywrite.com. Or name a star after her through the International Star Registry at www.starregistry.com.4 – Buy her expensive lingerie.
By expensive, I mean the real deal. You and I may not know the difference in the quality of lingerie, since all we can think about is ripping it off. But most women really do appreciate the good stuff. Nothing against Victoria’s Secret – personally, I love their catalog – but there are some really nice high-end lingerie stores out there. This will really set the mood for your Valentine’s Day. To find out her sizes, just do a little snooping through her drawers. Check out www.Agentprovocateur.com.
5 – Do something crazy.
Where attention goes, energy flows. Go to the opera or take her to a movie. Bring a picnic basket or sneak in some wine. Take her dancing in a ballroom. Accompany her to a secret speakeasy or even a Korean bathhouse where you can get services together. Just think of the craziest thing you can do and go for it. Dine out on unusual ethnic food and then do some karaoke. Have fun and really make her see your adventurous side.
