Are you a die-hard foodie who wants to cook all kinds of interesting dishes or tweak a dish you had at some fab resto? Or maybe it’s not you but a spouse, mom, sibling or a BFF who digs into the thrill of cooking and the precision of rolling something fabulous out of the kitchen. No matter who it is, if you would like to learn more about food styling and how to shoot not just good photos but fabulous photos that turn viewers into fans and ravenously wanting to find where to get that dish pictured, this is the workshop for you! Plus for those who really love to travel, it’s all happening in
Cadenet, France, April 12-16, 2016!

Join Denise Vivaldo and Cindie Flannigan, authors of the The Food Stylist’s Handbook, food photographer extraordinaire Christina Peters, and Tasha Powell (our fluent-in-French food stylist) for this information-packed workshop on the art of food styling and photography. A Paris-based food photographer will share photographic techniques to improve your culinary camera skills. This class is designed for chefs, food bloggers, food writers and anyone with a deep passion for the art of food.

Dates and requirements:
April 12-16, 2016 a group will gather in the town of Cadenet, outside of Aix-en-Provence, for an agenda geared towards foodies, food bloggers, food writers, chefs and anyone who wants to improve their food styling and photography skills.
The criteria for attendees are to understand how to operate their SLR camera and to possess rudimentary cooking skills.

Tour includes:
—three mornings of professional food styling instruction,

—one day of location photography instruction,

—one cooking class with participants photographing the food they make.

Also included are:
–a visit to a local produce market;

–shopping in Aix-en-Provence;

–touring and dining in Cadenet and Lourmarin;

–visiting local churches, cathedrals and abbeys;

–walking tour of Les Pastras, an olive orchard and a truffle hunting location;

–tastings at local vineyards, including Château La Coste in Le Puy-Sainte-Réparade.

There will be shopping at a local antique and flea markets to stock up on props for your collection.

All breakfasts, lunches, and two dinners are included, as are gratuities. .

Note:
Participants bring their own SLR camera and know the basics about how to use them. All instruction will be conducted in English.

Accommodations at our basecamp at La Tuiliere B&B in Cadenet, France are colorful and rustic.
There are 5 twin rooms available, 2 rooms have private baths and the other 3 rooms share a bath. For the friendliest participants, one of the twin rooms with a shared bath has a day bed and can accommodate a third person.

Double rooms with twin beds & private bath $3,900 US per person, airfare not included.

More luxurious accommodations are available at Moulin de Lourmarin in the town of Lourmarin, a short 3 miles away.

  1. If you can get Busha Browne’s condiments .. you could do this in the UK: the lobster is available, You have mayo (or can make it from scratch) . Hot dog buns or hoagie buns would be a good option OR get those shorter french rolls.
