Ron Robinson Talks About Innovations + Memories of His Stores. Podcast #2

40 years.. is a long time. That’s how long Ron Robinson has been involved in retailing– whether running his own stores or as VP for Fred Segal. He helped Fred Segal Melrose become the boutique powerhouse in Los Angeles/Hollywood that became a beauty & fashion mecca for celebrities as well as customers who wanted to buy the hottest trend items.
And Ron Robinson had them along with celebrities who wanted to wear the latest fashion trends.

Ron Robinson (facing the camera on the left) is the man behind the menswear store (plus Apothia, a womenswear store plus a children’s store)  at Fred Segal Melrose.

 

While Fred Segal is no longer alive,  the Melrose store still exists. The latest iteration for Ron Robinson is his flagship store in Santa Monica, California. Ron Robinson was so kind to give me a couple of hours of his time to not only talk about the path of his career and his innovative projects, but also to share a lot of details and information about some of his favorite items in the Santa Monica store.
