Things are about to get ARTrageous! The Festival of Arts of Laguna Beach, producer of the iconic Pageant of the Masters, is pleased to announce the non-profit’s first-ever virtual gala event: Simply ARTrageous: Live the Legacy on Saturday, December 5 at 6:30 PM PST. The star-studded virtual spectacular will be hosted by musician, composer, and producer Tony Guerrero and actor, comedian, and writer Dave Foley. The event is free to attend and sponsored by Stephen R. Davy Violins, The Ritz-Carlton of Laguna Niguel, Partners Bank of California, and Yamaha.

“We’ve gone virtual – reimagining our traditional end-of-season Celebrity Gala fundraiser to re-unite and celebrate our rich legacy with the community and our supporters,” shared Sharbie Higuchi, Director of Marketing/PR at Festival of Arts of Laguna Beach.

 

Anticipated to be the most ARTrageous celebration of the season, the virtual gala promises an evening of fun, laughter and nostalgia. Many surprises are planned for the evening including appearances by celebrity guests:
Bryan Cranston,
Kate Flannery,
Joe Mantegna,
Jane Lynch.
Guests will enjoy musical performances by The Salty Suites, Melissa Manchester, Laura Dickinson, Starr Parodi and Jeff Eden Fair.

 

In addition to the spectacular night of entertainment, anyone donating $100 or more will be automatically entered into a drawing to win some great prizes. Prizes range from
–a weekend getaway package at The Ritz-Carlton Laguna Niguel (valued at $2,500 USD),
–prestigious artwork from ceramic artist Mike Tauber (valued at $320 USD),
–two loge center tickets plus an invite to walk the red carpet at the 2021 Pageant of the Masters Celebrity Benefit Night (valued $490 USD), to name a few.

Proceeds from the digital event will help support the Festival of Arts and Pageant of the Masters and, in turn, local artists and the arts community.

About Dave Foley

Dave Foley is a Canadian actor, comedian, director, producer, and writer. He is known as a co-founder of the comedy group, The Kids in the Hall, responsible for their eponymous sketch show and the feature-length film “Brain Candy.”

After the successful television run of “The Kids in the Hall,” Dave signed on to the long-running NBC series, “Newsradio.” In between seasons, he forged a feature film career that is still very active today. In addition to his comedic work, Dave has also been seen in HBO’s critically-acclaimed mini-series “From the Earth to the Moon.” He also wrote and starred in the Canadian film “The Wrong Guy” and directed the Kids in The Hall documentary, “Same Guys New Dresses,” based on one of the group’s recent tours.

Some of the many films Dave has starred in include “Sky High,” “A Bug’s Life,” “Toy Story 2,” “A Blast From the Past,”South Park: Bigger and Longer,” and the Jennifer Lopez film, “Second Chance.” He has most recently been seen on the ABC series, “Dr. Ken,” “The Middle,” “Hot in Cleveland,” “Misfits & Monsters” and countless other TV shows.

About Tony Guerrero

Since his first solo release in 1988, Tony Guerrero has established himself in a variety of areas. His work as a contemporary jazz flugelhornist, trumpeter, composer, and producer has garnered him both critical success and a worldwide audience. He has toured the United States and much of the world as a headliner in major jazz festivals, concert halls, and clubs and has enjoyed commercial radio success not only with his own releases, but with music he’s written for other artists. To date, he has released twelve solo CDs, some of which have charted on the Billboard Top 20, as well as a variety of special releases. He has appeared on around 200 albums as either producer, composer, arranger, or as a musician performing on either trumpet, flugelhorn, piano, guitar and more. Guerrero’s work as a musician and composer can also be heard in movies and on television.

He’s worked with a wide range of artists including Dick Van Dyke, Freddie Hubbard, Arturo Sandoval, Brian Wilson, Paul McCartney, Joe Sample and many more, and has served as actress Jane Lynch’s music director since 2014, writing and producing her Billboard Top 10 Christmas album, A Swingin’ Little Christmas.
