Celebrate Memorial Day Weekend with Any of These 8 Great Cocktail Recipes!!

Memorial Day is one of my most favorite holidays of the year. That weekend kicks off the summer season and I love the idea of mixing up a couple of different cocktails. Then I might get really ambitious and invite some people for a BBQ!  Sometimes I am invited to another person’s house and I take over a bottle of spirits and the ingredients for a simple cocktail and share it with my friends.

Pina Colada

 


Ingredients

2 oz. Argonaut Speculator Brandy

½ oz. Fresh Lime Juice

2 oz. Pineapple Juice

1 oz. Coconut Cream

1 oz. Coconut Milk⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀

Method: 
Add ingredients into an ice-filled cocktail shaker.
Shake vigorously until chilled.
Strain into a glass filled with crushed iced and garnish with a pineapple wedge.

 

About Argonaut Speculator Brandy

  This Pina Colada has a remarkably different presentation for a pina colada thanks to Argonaut Speculator Brandy.

Here’s a bit about this brandy:

Argonaut is the rare brandy that combines both Alembic and Coffey distilling. They use 20 copper, Alembic pot stills made by renowned manufacturer Robert Prulho of Cognac, France. The centuries-old method of double distillation in an Alembic pot still is a more labor-intensive process than distillation in a continuous still, but it’s one that produces spirits of exceptional smoothness and balance.

 

The Macallan Speyside Sipper 

Ingredients:

1 ½ oz The Macallan Double Cask 12 Years Old

½ oz Membrillo

¼ Lime

3 oz Sprite’s Delight Tea

1 grapefruit

Method:

  • Dissolve ½ oz Membrillo into Sprite’s Delight Tea
  • Add 1 oz Fresh grapefruit and .25 oz lime
  • Serve tall over ice in a highball glass
  • Garnish with a membrillo slice

 

 

NOLET’S Signature Gin + Soda 

Ingredients:

1.5 oz. NOLET’S Silver Gin

4 oz. Club Soda, Seltzer or Sparkling Mineral Water

Lemon Peel

Method:
Pour NOLET’S Silver Gin into an ice-filled Copa Balloon glass and top with Soda.
Stir well.

Express oil then garnish with a swath of lemon peel.

 

 

Rush of Rainbow Cooler 

 

Ingredients

1.5 oz. SVEDKA Pure Infusions Strawberry Guava

1 oz. dry white wine

.75 oz. lemon juice

.5 oz. simple syrup

Frozen rainbow-colored fruit (blackberries, blueberries, green grapes, pineapple, mango, strawberry)

Method:
Add frozen fruit to a glass starting with blackberries and working way up to strawberries.
Add vodka, sherry, lemon juice and simple syrup to a cocktail shaker.
Shake with ice and then strain into glass filled with frozen fruit.
The fruit will act as ice cubes to keep the drink cold and also make the appearance of a rainbow.

 

 

NOLET’S SILVER Watermelon Mint Slushy

Ingredients:

1 cup NOLET’S Silver

1 Fresh Watermelon Cubed (reserving some for garnish)

Limes – 2 for Syrup and more for garnish

Mint for garnish

Optional Black Sesame Seeds for Garnish

Method:
For the cocktails, add watermelon chunks to the blender with 1/2 cup of syrup (the amount should be approximately 6 cups).
Blend until the consistency is that of a slushy.
Add NOLET’S Silver Gin and stir gently,

Pour into a tall glass,
Garnish with watermelon, mint, and a sprinkle of black sesame seeds.

Watermelon Cubes:

Method:
Cut a large watermelon into ice cube sized chunks (approx. 1 1/2 inches).
Place cubes on a parchment or waxed paper-lined tray spaced apart and freeze for 2 hours or just until frozen.
If you’re not using them for a while, put cubes in an airtight container & store in the freezer.

Mint Lime Syrup

Ingredients:

1 cup Sugar

1/4 cup Fresh Lime Juice (juice of about 2 limes)

1 bunch of Fresh Mint

3/4 cup Water

Method:

Combine ingredients in a medium saucepan and heat on medium until sugar dissolves.
Let sit while cooling.
Once cooled, strain into a container with a lid and refrigerate.

 

 

Averna Limonata

Ingredients:

2 parts Averna

1 part fresh lemon juice

0.5 part simple syrup

Soda Water

 

 

Method:
Serve swizzle style with crushed ice;
Garnish with seasonal herbs (mint, rosemary, or sage).
Top with soda water

 

 

AQUADISIAC 

 

Ingredients:

1.5 oz PATRÓN Silver

1 oz blue curacao

.75 oz lime juice

3 oz Tropical Red Bull

2 cups of ice

 

Method:
Combine all ingredients into a blender with ice.
Blend until smooth.
Garnish with pineapple wedge.

Bourbon Rickey 

 

Ingredients:

2 parts Wild Turkey Bourbon
(*Recommended with Wild Turkey Bourbon or Wild Turkey 101.)

½ oz. simple syrup

¾ oz. fresh-squeezed lime juice

soda water

Method:

Add first three ingredients to shaker with ice.
Shake well for about  30-45 seconds,
Strain over ice into a highball glass,
Top with soda.
Garnish with lime.
