Today is the first day of the 15th Annual “12 Drinks of Xmas”!
This “annual event” features 12 (or more) days of cocktails. Each day there will be cocktails, wine or mocktails for you to try. This is the fifteenth year of these articles that feature interesting beverages for you to whip up for Christmas and New Year’s Eve. Often the series runs a little long and might end up to be 14 days of recipes for you to test drive.

Make the Season Bright with These Great Cocktail Recipes!
I have curated six different cocktails or products for you to choose from. There’s a lot of range in the various spirits including new canned cocktail-inspired seltzer called Shiner Tall ‘Tails! Lots of different flavors and presentations for you to choose from. I think you will like this collection!
While Christmas Eve is Friday, you still have time to invite some people over for a cocktail party or you can serve some of these recipes on Christmas Eve or Christmas Day!
If you are thinking about Christmas Eve, it a slightly more than 24-hour deal.. particularly if you count that Christmas Eve as part of the event. Christmas Eve and Christmas Day add up to almost 36 hours of celebrations. For those of us who enjoy cocktails and are “of the age”, I am sharing an array of cocktails that are pretty amazing. There are some new brands I am featuring as well as brands that I love.
Take a look at all the cocktails and pick a couple. Note that I will share more cocktail recipes over the holiday weekend and will continue straight through January 2 (Sunday!). It’s going to be fun!
Cutwater Spirits Warmest Regards
Ingredients:
1.5oz Cutwater Bourbon
.5oz Falernum
.5oz lemon juice
.25oz Pimento Dram
Pinch edible glitter
Hot Water
Method:
Add ingredients to a warm mug.
Top with hot water and stir.
Garnish with a dehydrated lemon wheel.

Ingredients
- 1½ oz. Bourbon
- ½ oz. Averna
- ¾ oz. Cider syrup
- ¾ oz. Fresh lemon juice
Preparation
Combine all of the ingredients in a shaker with ice and shake to chill.
Strain into a rocks glass over crushed ice.
Garnish.
Shiner Tall ‘Tails
From the independent, family-owned makers of Shiner Beer comes Tall ‘Tails, a brand-new collection of “cocktail-inspired” seltzers!
Each is a riff on a Texan classic and features a tongue-in-cheek “tall tale” origin story on the back of the can!

Tasting Notes/Flavor Profiles:
- Watermelon Margarita – Juicy watermelon and tart lime combines for a sweet spin on the traditional margarita
- Mexican Martini – This lime and agave cocktail is topped off with just a hint of brine for a sweet and slightly salty treat
- Ruby Red Paloma – The bold grapefruit flavor that the Rio Grande Valley is known for meets a kick of lime for this Texas staple
- Texas Mule – A burst of lime is kicked up a notch with the zip of ginger for a Texas take on the classic Moscow Mule
Avaline Sparkling Float
Ingredients:
1 scoop of your favorite sorbet (raspberry + rose sorbet is the best!)
3-4 fluid ounces of Avaline Sparkling wine
A handful of fresh raspberries
Method:
Fill your coupe glass with a scoop of your preferred sorbet.
Pour 3-4 ounces of Avaline Sparkling on top.
Sprinkle with fresh raspberries, and Voila!
Bitches Bee Like
Ingredients:
1/2 Cup BABE GRIGIO
1 Lemon, Juiced
5 Fresh Raspberries
3 Small Sprigs of Fresh Thyme
1 tsp. Honey
Method:
Place lemon juice, raspberries, thyme, and honey in a cocktail mixing glass and muddle together.
Add the BABE Grigio and stir well with a cocktail spoon.
Strain into a glass with ice.
Garnish with a lemon slice and thyme sprig.
Caffe Shakerato —Created by Linden Pride, Dante NYC
Ingredients
- 1 oz. Averna
- ½ oz. Coffee Liqueur
- ¼ oz. Appleton reserve
- 2 dash Reagan orange bitters
- ½ oz. agave
- 1 ½ oz. fresh espresso
METHOD:
Whip shake in a either a shaker or in a blender
(If you use a blender, use the spirits first to blend with a bit of ice, then add in the rest of the ingredients and blend again with a bit more ice.
GLASS: Latte glass over pebbled ice. If you don’t have pebbled ice, crush some ice in a blender.
GARNISH: Orange wedge
