KOBE BRYANT MURALS IN LA

WE MISS YOU, KOBE.

The  photos of the Kobe Bryant Murals in LA are via DoLA

The murals I have featured are just a fraction of  the murals across Southern California.  There are more!

DOWNTOWN MURAL ON LEBANON STREET

Nearby the Staples Center, Los Angeles sports muralist Jonas Never also created a Kobe Bryant mural to honor the star’s NBA
career in 2016. Following the news of the accident, fans gathered at the Downtown Los Angeles mural along the 1300 block of Lebanon Street. Hundreds of people have written down their tributes on post-its and hung them bellow the iconic mural. The artwork features Kobe doing his iconic Mamba yell along with “Los Angeles Culture” styled as the Lakers’ logo.

January 26 is a day that hits home for Los Angeles, and a day nobody will ever forget.

Koby Bryant will always be remembered as an amazing dad, husband, friend, hero,
and basketball player. The mark he left on the world will continue to radiate all over,
and the artist of LA has made his legacy last through multiple different murals that brighten up the streets.

Here are some of the ones that you can visit in his honor.

MID CITY MURAL AT PICKFORD MARKET

After hearing the tragic news, Venice street artist Jules Muck (@muckrock) answered thousand of requests and quickly put together a mural to honor the Bryants. The mural can be found in Mid-City on the wall of the Pickford Market, located on the corner of Pickford Street and Vineyard Avenue. Featuring both Kobe and Gianna’s faces and the phrase “Kobe & Gigi Forever…Daddy’s Girl,” this mural gives honor to the father and daughter relationship between the two athletes.

MELROSE MURAL AT SHOE PALACE

7725 Melrose Ave  Los Angeles, CA 90046

To commemorate Kobe Bryant’s retirement a few years ago, Long Beach artist JC Ro created an angular style large-scale
portrait of the Black Mamba. The artist documented the entire process and titled the painting ‘#MambaOnMelrose.’
Painted on the side of Shoe Palace, the mural reads
“on 4.13 Kobe played his final game… this tribute has 413 triangles,”
referencing Bryant’s final game on April 13, 2016.
Now the mural is one of the latest spots transformed into a shrine for the legend with fans placing candles, flowers,
and post-its with messages along the wall

Located at Reseda Blvd, Northridge, this mural was painted live by Levi Ponce for a Summer Series concert in 2016.
At the time, this was the only Kobe Bryant painting in the valley area. Now residents are lining up here to pay tribute
to the late athlete. This mural portrays Bryant’s smile and reminds fans of his once-in-a-lifetime charisma.

To all of those who were killed that foggy day in a helicopter crash, say a prayer for their families.
I was at Long Beach Convention Center early that morning. As I was trying to find a parking spot, I was concerned that
Kobe Bryant’s helicopter was going to have some problems because it was very foggy that morning.
