Krigler Launches a New Scent!

The new limited-édition Eleganter Schwan 06 Intense Édition fragrance boasts the same woody-floral notes— rose, sandalwood, pear, iris, vanilla, and patchouli— as the original blend, but in a higher concentration of 45-percent perfume (versus 35 percent in the first edition).

Also like the original, the special-édition scent is an homage to the German ruler Ludvig II and his love of swans, a motif Ludvig used in décor throughout his lavish homes. The first Eleganter Schwan 06 was created in 1906 after Mr. Albert Krigler visited Ludvig’s Neuschwanstein Castle in the Alps. The new limited-édition parfum, says Mr. Ben Krigler, current head of the family brand, is an ode to another of Ludvig’s homes: the Nymphenburg Palace, where Ludvig was born in 1845.

To pay tribute to the Nymphenburg Palace, the new Eleganter Schwan 06 Intense Édition bottle has been dressed up in a silk-screen design inspired by Bavarian dirndls (traditional dresses). The glass vessel, sourced from nearby Austria, took Mr. Krigler two years to create.

“This bottle celebrates the craftmanship in Bavaria under Ludvig II, and it is a tribute to his love for art and beauty,” says Mr. Krigler.

The 12 ml bottle comes tucked inside a coffret with three interchangeable lids: a classic screw-off cap (above),
a spray, and a pump, the first time Krigler has offered a trio of tops.

Krigler Eleganter Schwan 06 Intense Édition: the Nymphenburg Édition will be sold for $450 at the Munich boutique and on krigler.com until the limited run sells out.
“We will not issue additional bottles after that,” says Mr. Krigler, “However, those who have purchased the limited-édition Eleganter Schwan 06 may have their bottles refilled with the 45-percent concentrated blend. It will only be available to them.
