Raelyn has crafted this album as a mesmerizing odyssey of sound and emotion, drawing inspiration from a fictional character she named after Nephele, the Greek goddess of clouds. Zeus created Nephele from clouds as a replica of his wife, Hera, in a bid to test the integrity of another man who desired her.Through her music, Raelyn breathes life into the captivating narrative of Nephele, a 21-year-old enchantress from the vibrant 80s era. Engaged in a fierce internal struggle of displacement and melancholy, Nephele: Act I pulses with raw emotion, encapsulating the heartache and courage of a young woman’s journey to find her place in a world seemingly determined to cast her adrift.
Raelyn elaborates, “I crafted this album to depict the journey of a troubled young woman grappling with power dynamics between herself and the men surrounding her. She stands as a comforting presence and a voice for women who experience incompleteness, dissatisfaction with life, and dream of embracing their strength.”
