Thanksgiving Day: It's About Giving Thanks, Turkey and a Parade!

Now that it’s Thanksgiving Day — or thereabouts, it’s time to think about the day and its’ meaning. Yes, it’s a day of thanksgiving for all that we have: a place to live, a job, clothing, healthcare and of course, food to eat.
Typically it looks something like this — with lots of people you are related to ( sometimes with that love/hate relationship going along too) or with a family that you have created.

For those wishing to procrastinate the turkey dinner– either the cooking of or the driving to the dinner, here’s something you can do– whether you are in New York City (and I was just there last week) or if you to live vicariously on the TV!!
Now having lived in So. California all my life, I am pretty familiar with the behind the scenes of the Rose Parade — though trust me, I have NEVER been nor decorated a float in my life. Done enough of that stuff in other venues and scenes.
However the Macy’s Thanksgiving Day Parade is quite different and here’s a peek of what goes on behind the scenes. Please don’t tell me you don’t want to know because I just don’t believe it.

So my friends, let me raise a glass of sparkling cider to you (or if you know me well you know what’s really in the glass), and wish you a happy Thanksgiving and a blessed BLACK FRIDAY!!
There will be something up on the blog on Thurs about Black Friday– but if you are smart, start shopping Thursday online and don’t bother with the malls on Friday– just pay for the shipping and get it all delivered to your home
