Getting Oscar Glam with Anastasia and Jaguar!
Many people wonder how the stars get glam–whether for the red carpet or for a trip to the local gas station. During this past March during Oscar week (“March Madness” now has an entirely different meaning to me), I was invited to attend an exclusive beauty suite for celebs and VIPS. Invitation in hand, I was one of the lucky few to spend the day at Benedict Canyon (an exclusive area of Beverly Hills) estate of Anastasia Soare (a.k.a. the Eyebrow Sculptress Extraordinaire) for the
Jaguar Pre-Oscar Getaway.
Anastasia’s home was warm, friendly, and vibrating with excitement as I was warmly welcomed. White walls, wooden floors, and huge windows bathed the rooms in the afternoon light– so much so that suddenly the pool was a very tempting option Unwilling to push the envelope that far, I waited by the pool for my appointment time and stared out at the breathtaking hillside along with a slew of others.
The first appointment was poolside with famed hairdresser, Byron Williams . If there is a god of “good hair days”, Byron would be it. Not just anyone can style my “rocker chick” nest into a side-sweeping mane and have me look—and feel– fabulous in a mere 20 minutes!!

With a few extra minutes to my good, I snacked on some yummy hors d’oeuvres and then headed off to facialist Michelle Peck. Known for the popular Hyperbaric Oxygen Treatment, Peck is Madonna’s best kept secret. Upstairs in the “pseudo spa,” experienced what has all the spa bunnies raving! This intense O2 treatment “woke up” my skin and left it feeling rejuvenated and lifted in a matter of minutes. (If I were the Material Girl, I’d have one in each of my homes).
As I was completing the “goddess’ transformation, I met with the eyebrow guru herself, Anastasia Soare. Treating me like a VIP client, Anastasia helped me to relax and pretend that tweezing was so not painful. Tears (and sweat) over, I looked and felt like red carpet material. I rejoined the other gorgeous guests, patiently waiting poolside While it took a bit to “return to earth” , I was able to pick up right where the conversation left off: “Can you believe that’s what she really looks like without all that makeup?”
