Access Hollywood /On 3 Productions at the Sofitel LA Hotel for the Golden Globes was a smokin’ hot place to be– tons of celebs. But one of the most under the radar celebs is someone you probably saw online about wine– Gary Vaynerchuk from WineLibraryTV.com. If you have an affinity for wine, you know this site. If you don’t know anything about wine but want to move past the “two buck Chuck”; from TJ’s, then you need to check out this site.
Gary Vaynerchuk is the Director of Operations at the Wine Library. His passion for wine started at a young age–try 17 ( Uh, Gary.. a question on that one but it can wait). He started off by reading Robert Parker and the Wine Spectator (super huge wine-junkie magazine or as those who are very “proper”– enophile type magazine that rates different wines and discusses both domestic and global winemaking) While Gary is only 30 years of age, he’s a wizard at understanding wine and making enology accessible to the general public–meaning he speaks PLAIN ENGLISH and uses descriptive terms that we all understand.
Aerial view of Wine Library (awesome huh!. wait till you see the rest of the photos!)
Gary has received a large amount of press and accolades such as being featured in the New York Times and GQ Magazine. In order to expand his horizons, Gary has visited every major wine region in the world. So what does this really mean? He’s been to the different wine regions and can explain the differences in climate, soil in terms and language that anyone can understand in flavor descriptions that will either ignite your wine indulging fervor or direct you elsewhere to other types of wines. No bs and no hype, just straight talk from an enthusiastic but basic sort of guy.

Check out the podcast with Gary about this fab site where he does VIDEO Casts talking to you about different wines.
One of the most recent V-Logs from Winelibrarytv.com is on wine tasting parties actually is a great idea for any time of year and is a great reason (other than Super Bowl) to get everyone together for a casual but fun evening of wine-tasting. Asking people to bring snacks or nibbles suitable for wine drinking (a la tapas) would be an excellent way to make it more party like and yet give you the ability to show off several wines in either a red or white genre– from a savory to sweet range or just in a favorite range you like.
Second aerial view.. realize you can BUY from this place. This is THE place to buy wines! It’s got a huge selection and prices that will compete with BevMo and TJ’s.
Also for those who aren’t wine afficianados, the episode about "wine drinking is fun" is definitely a good place to start!
If you like reading blogs (and if you are here, you do), check out the onsite winelibrarytv.com blog. It’s a hoot and has some interesting discussions and ideas.
Did I tell you this place was HUGE?
Once you noodle around the site, you might want to buy some of the brands or vintages he’s talked about but maybe they aren’t available where you are located! No worries, Check out http://winelibrary.com/ to purchase but definitely make sure you bookmark the tv.winelibrary.com to get to Gary and email him your questions and comments.
GARY!! I have a question– Sancerre– Loved it, but where can I find the one that you served me that day at Access Hollywood Lounge at the Sofitel? What was the brand? Because I am not finding anything here in So. CAL that is remotely that good.
