The KIN have just dropped their CD — RISE And FALL (available at a slew of locations.. scroll down for the list). When I was in NYC in June, I was able to spend a lot of time with Thorry and Isaac Koren– the two brothers that comprise the band THE KIN — about their music, their career and about their CD RISE AND FALL
.
Here’s an edited version of PART 1 of this interview/podcast with Isaac and Thorry.. as we are driving out to see where they recorded the CD in an incredibly old Pennsylvania farmhouse and barn. (see the next post featuring a podcast with Isaac Koren which will feature photos of the location). The guys have just picked me up and we are driving through the countryside. . Thorry is in the backseat and the voice that is softer and Isaac is driving and I am riding shotgun with them and Rocky, a dog the brothers “share”.
Here’s the podcast. Let me know what you think!

If the podcast sounds a bit jerky in spots it’s because we hit a couple of deadzone as the recorder was picking up feedback and so those sectionsn were edited out. We also talked stuff that wasn’t all that relevant– a lot about the dog who seemed enamoured with me and I absolutely adored the dog. (! heart Rocky). Anyway, there’s part 2 podcast on Monday with Isaac and then if I am exceptionally ambitious, part 3 with Thorry via phone for Tuesday.
So hang on people.. and check this out. The KIN are armazing musicians and really interesting and have some very very interesting concepts and ideas.
If you haven’t heard THE KIN, definitely hit their site at TheKin.com or www.myspace.com/thekin for a couple of songs. Also check out the videos on their main site — which I have featured in the previous post linked above that is their CD review and features a lot of links to their live performance videos.
However the best thing I can suggest is BUYING the CD and also getting out there and seeing them.
On tap for Tuesday is The Troubadour in LA where I will see them perform and do an interview with them along with snapping some photos.
