Gone Baby Gone: Hot New Thriller on DVD Stars Casey Affleck!

Closing down early last night, because I absolutely had to see Gone Baby Gone with Casey Affeck. Talked about as one of the sleeper *must see* films, this is truly one of the DVD’s that deals with a current hot topic (child abduction and child molestation) and creates a thriller of a movie that still deals effectively with the situation in a respectful manner

The plot:
Patrick Kenzie (Casey Affleck) and Angie Gennaro (Michelle Monaghan) work together as private investigators and are hired to find a 4-year-old girl who went missing from the Dorchester neighborhood of Boston.

The media spotlight on the case burns brightly, and the pair are forced to team up with a detective (Ed Harris) and the chief of police (Morgan Freeman) to help solve it quickly.

But as the clues start mounting and Patrick and Angie get involved with drug dealers and child abusers, it quickly begins to appear that there’s a lot more at stake here than just one missing little girl.

Featuring supporting players that are much better than you would think ( Amy Ryan as the coked out mother), you become immersed in this story and sucked into the thread of what’s going on- not quite expecting all the twists and turns.
The ending– I am not going to break the suspense. You need to see this film. It’s not for everyone. There is a lot of graphic violence– very graphic violence and the subjects it deals with as film are not the most pleasant. Plus you get to sit back and watch just how crazy the media gets when it is involved in these types of cases. The truth gets spun out of whack and it impedes the progression of the investigation.
Love the film, love Casey Affleck’s performance which was really good. Amy Ryan — amazing. Morgan Freeman-he’s always good. Ed Harris was phenomenal.
