Hayden Harnett Features a Brazilian Twist for Spring 08–Tropicalismo!

Hayden-Harnett started out doing handbags– and gorgeous bags they were too. I remember first seeing them at some shopping events and suddenly they were HUGE in the public eye due to celebs and fashion magazine. Toni and Ben- from diverse sections of the US (she from the South, he from Philly, Seattle and Italy) — have a unique brand that started out in Brooklyn! Partners in business and in life, they created this unique, edgy brand that is really a snapshot of a lifestyle.
The brand has morphed into a full fashion brand with dresses, coats, jewelry, and belts as well as signature bags (I bought one last June in NYC.. I could no longer resist the allure.. I was so mesmerized).

According to the Hayden-Harnett blog, the collection for spring/summer 08 is Tropicalia..
rhumba, samba, frevo. hayden-harnett’s s/s08 collection is deeply inspired by a love for the passionate arts and culture of 60’s brazil. vivid color, bold shapes, and hand-crafted detailing reflect the cultural flashpoint of tropicalismo. so, put on some caetano veloso or os mutatnes on the hi-fi, kick back and watch the surf roll in. remember, it is forbidden to forbid. from corcovado to sao paulo, we hope there’s something perfeito for the artisan in you.
