Cricket Lee Is Taking the Fashion World Down To Size! WSJ Online Report.

As all women know, the fashion world is not a consistent size situation– even within a brand. You can try jeans or dresses from the a single brand and have to go up or down in sizes depending on the cut of the garment –even if it’s the exact same style.
Extremely frustrating for women shoppers who have to size up 1-2 sizes for swimwear or jeans. Dresses and jackets aren’t consistent when one brand is tight through the shoulders and going up a size or two then makes the fit in shoulders ok but then the rest of the garment must be tailored to fit correctly ($$$$).
Shopping for contemporary fashions can be a nightmare- -and high end fashions are not much different. Low end fashions are worse because brands tend to skimp on seams and often pieces of the same garment in the same size may fit very very different. Patrick Robinson’s GO Collection for Target was one such line– where I typically wear a size XS but had to go up to a medium in one shirt but a small in another and an XS in yet another.

The fashion industry needs a wake-up call and Cricket Lee is the one who’s leading the charge with FITLOGIC sizing system according to the Wall Street Journal online article by Ann Zimmerman. Check out the video below.

While Lee takes on the fashion industry one brand at a time, sometimes those body shapes don’t always fit every woman and I can see that while I might seem straight up and down, despite my small size, I am a curvy girl with a small waist– but I also have shoulders from working out. So it makes you wonder if Lee needs to tweak this a bit. It is a start and as the video indicates some retailers have taken up her sizing chart. However there are other retailers like Lands End who have created their own system to make the sizing and fitting process more consistent both in cut and descriptions.
While the FITLOGIC provides you information, it’s hard to find brands and you might need to contact them to find the lines that would suit you.
This is a trend worth putting on your personal radar!
