Tonium, creators of the Pacemaker pocket-size DJ system, is announcing a contest to celebrate the beta launch of Pacemaker Community.
What is Pacemaker Community?
Hosted on www.pacemaker.net, the Pacemaker music community allows members to upload and legally share the mixes of their music, created by them using a Pacemaker or the free Pacemaker Editor software. The Pacemaker music community is the next step in the evolution in social networking and music-sharing. In other words, have fun sharing music legally and meeting new people who have uploaded or are downloading the music because you find their musical tastes similar or quite different.
Members can create their own profile, make friends with other members, listen to each other’s mixes (saving their favorites within their profile), join fan clubs, post bulletins and leave comments for each other. The site will allow everyone to interact with their music and share it with anyone who wants to listen – where music fans can share their musical tastes with the world and also find new music and influences- making it more of a “right people in the right place at the right time” effect.
What’s really interesting is that one does not have to buy a Pacemaker to be able to participate in this community. Tonium has created the Pacemaker Editor; a free, downloadable PC and MAC compatible application that allows you to play music, edit and create mixes. Participants are given the freedom to be as forward thinking — and creative — as they like with the music within their profile — or anything they download into that profile.
Because a techno-musician, create new mixes that take your own music and that of others (including established groups) to a new dynamic level. Whether mood-driven or a jam you have created with others, you can publish it to the Pacemaker community and let them chime in on their reaction to it and generate new ideas or further adaptations with the music.
Pacemaker music community allows for music interaction unlike anything else you have seen– or participated in– before.

Because of unique licensing agreement with music rights societies, STIM (www.stim.se) and IFPI (www.ifpi.se), Tonium is the only company in the world to be allowed to legally stream any music uploaded to the Pacemaker music community by users. This allows a unique creativity and freedom of expression that can be shared between members across the world. According to the Tonium representatives, that means “any” music that is uploaded by its’ members is legally authorized to be shared with another Pacemaker member
NEWSWORTHY EVENT– AKA CONTEST!
To celebrate the launch of Beta version of the Pacemaker Community, Tonium is hosting a summer mix contest and the following prizes are up for grabs:

Create a summer mix, upload it to the Pacemaker Community site and share it.
To win the Grand Prize, a contestant must simply blow away Tonium by making the best summer mix.
The 2nd – 5th prizes will be awarded to the four mixes that get the most airtime over any 24 hour period during the contest.
